Viper vs. F-16 Fighting Falcon - being discussed at Nissan Titan Forums in the War Stories section.
Some of you may remember this. Here's a "war story" of sorts. Thought it was pretty worthy of posting. Dodge Viper beats F-16 in a half mile drag race. That's right the jet fighter F-16.
It took graduation from the "School Of Hard Knocks" (Marine Corps), with an associates in "Combat Vet" from Fallujia University to open the door to my dream job.
"Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have ever made a difference to the world, but the Marines don't have that problem..." President Ronald Reagan "There are only two kinds of people who understand Marines: Marines and the enemy. Everyone else has a second-hand opinion." If you can read, thank a teacher. If you can read in english, thank a Marine.

I read a motortrend the other day about a mustang, a viper, and a corvette that were all compared to fighter jets. Anyone else read that?
At first read I thought you were being sarcastic but upon further review. Very interesting read.
Nothing like some of the latest, fastest, baddest stock American sports cars and Jet fighters to get the ole testosterone flowing. Ahhhh the two go together so well... Thanks WazzuCoug http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...lub/index.html

F-16, freakin lawn dart figures it would loose to a car. Try an F-15E with the Pratt Whittney 229 engines and see what happens hehehe. Problem is all jets start off kind of slow, and the car can get a jump but is very quickly run down. Also I don't think the car would be able to wow the audience quite like the F-15 when it comes to the max climb portion of the contest.

Oh yeah f-15 put two engins on a brick and you can make anything fly right? lol Yeah all jets start slow.

That was the exact thinking behind the design of the F4 phantom. I believe even todays design simulators say it will not fly. The F-15 was until the F-22 the only jet that could accellerate while being completely vertical, pulls more G's in the vertical position than the space shuttle on take off. So you are right you can make anything fly with the right amount of power.
