Titan Vs Titan

I have a 2004 nissan titan kc le 4x4 with true dual 40 series flowmasters dumped in front of the rear axle. ( No tail pipes ) I got 16000 miles on it now.
I met up with a 2005 identical to mine minus the exhaust. I think it was brand new.
We were on the interstate and he pulls up next to me and then bolts off in the distance. Of course im always up for playtime, so I catch up to him and we were sitting at about 60 mph he give me the go sign and I floor it.

We were even fo a bit, (and I was thinking it would stay that way) but I started pulling away from him at about 80 mph. Then at 115 mph or whatever the limiter lets you go, I was about 3 truck lengths in front of him.

Why do you think I beat him so badly?
Was it the exhaust or was it because maybe his wasnt broke in yet?
Does breaking one in really make that much difference?
If so I wish I could go back and race some of the trucks I beat while i was still in the break in period. I would make them feel really stupid.

your exhust (like mine) is more free flowing...more top end. i feel i've lost some low end torque but on the highway, i fly! hmmm, maybe we should race....your not giving the stock titans a fair chance

I know for sure i lost low end torque. I can barely spin my wheels from a dead stop. When i first got it it woud fishtail, but a few days later i put this exhaust on and it lost its edge.
But it sounds damn good

An unrestricted exhaust works better (gain back your low end torque) in conjuction with improved intake system (CAI). These two mods are complementary partners as they improve each others power gains.

I personally have gained torque/HP on all RPMs (low end & top end) with this combo.

I ran 15.34 et, 89 mph, at the dragstrip with Volant intake and flowmaster 40 series muffler with stock Y pipe. I went to the Banks 3" Y pipe with Magnaflow muffler 3" in 3" out muffler, and ran 15.15 at 91.84 mph. I gained low end and top end power.
