War StoriesThis section is for discussion of any races you may have particpated in. If you smoked someone like a pack'o'cools, let us know. Likewise, if you got beat... let us know by what, so we can keep an eye out for it next time.
Well. You're probably thinking to yourself, "VShortt has a war story? No way"!! Well guess what. I do. This moring on the way to work, there was an older guy in a Marauder who decided that I didn't need to pass him so he stayed even with the person in the lane next to him. I guess he finally got tired of going fifty so he finally sped up which allowed me to pass the car beside him and ultimately (attempt) to go around him. Unfortunately, we were approching a red light so we both had to stop...and so the story begins!!
I looked over at him and sized up the goon that wouldn't allow me to pass. Naturally, he was already looking at me. I quickly realized that he was just some nasty old goofball that was clearly trying to live out his useless life vicariously through his muscle(less) car.
I calmly reached over and turned the A/C off in preparation for my kill as he was revving his motor. I will say this...those things sound good. Unfortunately, thats where its tough guy prowess ends.
The light turned green and just to make sure that I wasn't about to make an a$$ of myself, I waited for him to mash the gas. He did...then I did!! Although he got about a car length jump on me, I began to reel him in pretty quickly. I passed him at about 70, which came quickly, and his front bumper was at my rear bumber at 80 when I decided to level out the speed. The funny part was, as I passed him, I looked over and he was leaning forward as if to help "push" his car faster. It was priceless. When we got to the next light, as usual he fell in behind me so that he didn't have to make eye contact. Damn I was proud.
The funniest part about the whole thing is this guy was driving a car that had been specifically designed to be "drag" car. A straight line, fast, muscle car. Oh well, next time maybe he'll think twice about running his Crown Vic/Grand Marquis against a real motor.

I am very proud of your accomplishment, however I do not condone street racing. It is very dangerous and you could have been killed!
Hehe! I haven't run a car, but my Abu has (and won against those high school punks) and I have a Ram & Durango under my belt. Every now and then you have to stand up for yourself, you know!
