A Ford F150 Crew Cab 4x4 weighs about 5,600lbs, our Titans Crew Cabs 4x4 weigh about 5450lbs, not much of a weight difference.

My front differential is already going out. I don't think it would be a good idea to test the rear.

It was making a rotational metallic grinding noise. It sounded like a wheel bearing to me. The dealer put a listening device with sensors on the truck and identified the sound as coming from the front differential. They have ordered a "gear pack" they intend to install next week. Apparently they contacted Nissan and there is some kind of internal, non-published technical information on the subject. There is a thread here by akangl about a front differential problem and I think she posted that the dealer told her they put a differential with the new gears in it or someting like that. So it seems there might be a known problem with at least some period of production on the front differential. I am going to try to find out more when I take it back for installation of the "gear pack" and I am going to ask to see the damaged gear(s).
