Thunder tank 3--Triton 0

well my Brother-in-law always talks crap about my Titan. Says "that Japanese truck cant hang with an American truck" I said "this trucks maid in the USA by Americans"
He said "really... I didn’t know that"
But he still insisted that my Titan didn’t have any balls

Last weekend he rented a 2005 F150 with the Triton XLT or XTL. Whatever.

So I said "bring it baby"
He said "you truck cant handle that Triton V8 I just smoked a Cadillac earlier".

I said "lets go"

My Brother in law is super competitive and is so into racing he is crazy. Every trip on the road is like a race to him.

First time from a dead stop he tried holding the brake and the accelerator down to get a jump on me. We didn’t have a stop light because it was a back road, so I let him have the first go.
I smoked him so bad with my Titan. Nothing but tailgate.

Second time he tried to manually shift starting from 1st gear (the ford was an automatic. Again I let him go first again.
Chalk another one up for my Titan. I smoked him again.

Third time was the best!! For me.
I smoked him by a truck length and while we are still racing I let off the gas completely so he can catch up (im just toying with him now) he catches up and im passing him then letting him catch up and the passing him again. Finally I floor it I'm doing about 90MPH and he is about 4 or 5 truck lengths behind me.

It was awesome.
It was on a back country road with no houses so we didn’t endanger anyone but ourselves.
Yes im immature and so is he and it was the most fun I had in a long time

You know if it weren't for trucks we wouldn't have tailgates

LOL, I was thinking the same too. Funny story. Anyways, what did your brother-in-law say afterward when you were done racing?

That was beautiful man! Let's see....talk smack. Don't actually own a F150. Go RENT an F150 to race. Your last run musta been fun. Like the others, I'm curious what he had to say afterward.
Sweet kill.

My bro-in-law drives every thing like he stole it. He scares everybody.

Afterwards he said "this F-in truck sucks" (the ford) "My El Camino will beat you" (stock 350) So I said get it running first and then we will talk…

He rented it to drive to Vegas. He always rents cars when he drives out of town.
I just wish I would have bet him some cash. I know he would of at least bet me $100.

I'm going to tell him to rent a Chevy or a Hemi next time. I already told him he will need a Ford lightening or a Dodge with a V10 viper to beat me.
I beat a guy at work twice that drives a 2003 Mercedes E class. All he said was "That trucks got balls" then he said "Ill take you on the highway"

Anybody know the horse power rating of a 2005 f150 Triton?

I think the Triton is 295 horse with the 5.4

I thought it was 300, but that's close enough. Still accelerates like a slug.

I want to get the word out there that Titan is a little hot headed.(for a reason) Ive beat several fords with the 5.4 and the chevys too but, I cant get any Hemis to race me. One guy even told me he didnt want to race because gas costs too much!? If that wasnt a cop out I dont know what was.

not to give the Blue Oval guys any more than they are worth, but the only thing I have been able to determine about the "Triton" part is the three valves per cylinder. I guess this is the equivalent to calling the Chrysler 5.7 a true hemi. Good for a certain power band, but woefully short of any real performance. The only thing keeping them going besides a complete lack of research be the "Sheeples" is the OkLaTex oil and gas fleets. The truck has no guts, but won't rattle apart after years of service on cruddy rig roads. That must be due to the EXTREME bolts they use. LOL

Please feel free to flame away.
