Titan vs. WRX - being discussed at Nissan Titan Forums in the War Stories section.
A co-worker wanted a go with me in My Titan KC. big tow off road . So we take off at a light he said he didn't get a good launch because he blew a shift ( if he says so ) I got the jump on him and I was doing 85 mph before he finaly caught up to me and started to pull away from me .
Next night I had the car an 04 maxima 5spd auto 4 seater. I asked him if he wanted to try this and again here we go . seems to me same launch for him as the night before . Oh and in case you are wondering that little Subaru didn't fair as well in the higher speeds this time around . The only time it was close was from 30-50 mph he could hold his own any other times or speeds nope.
One other thing I honestly thought that the titan would not do as well as it did this is one impressive machine
I had a WRX before the might Titan, the driver must not have been very good. I smoked nearly every car or truck that wanted to race. The only cars that took me were the Corvettes, Auto S4 and Subaru STI's. It was a fun car.

I had an 04 SRT-4 that I sold just after I bought the Titan. My wife followed me in the Titan as I drove the SRT-4 to its new owner. We went twice from stoplight and I smoked her in the Titan with ease. I even gave her a good bracket sytle headstart at the second light. Anyway I just cant see a WRX getting beat by a Titan.

Yeah, must of been a woman driving the WRX. Ive also raced a SRT-4, and he was pulling away from me. Kinda hard to beat anything with a truck weighting a few tons (or however it weights).
I've beaten a couple of WRXs at the dragstrip on motor and after talking to the owners they were stock and they also were shifting with the gas pedal released (granny shifting). I've raced a couple that were driving them hard and lost. On the nitrous, they have a really hard time beating me depending on the amount of mods. There was a modded STI that was popping off 11 sec runs and that was pretty ugly, even with the nitrous going.
With nitrous I've beaten a few SRT-4s as well and lost to the modded ones. Win some, lose some.
Just like everything else, it comes down to the driver. And the amount of mods. Obviously without the nitrous it would take some really crappy driving on their part to lose to a titan.

I will be more than happy to believe I can beat a WRX in my Titan. That is just fine by me. I may have to go to the local track and see if I can find one. I am not sure nitrous is in my future though, unless I lose.
Haha....that must have been the WORST WRX driver EVER. They don't have a whole lot of top end, but if you got the jump on him, he doesn't know how to drive. Period. You beat the driver, definitely not the car.
But the driver was driving the car-so he beat the CAR.
A few months back, I had a Chevy Trailblazer try to over take me, and it would have, but didn't b/c it ran out of room (two lanes to one situation), and I had close to three truck lengths on it to start. And why, because I screwed up driving. It happens. Proably happen in this case. Mis-shift, lack of concern/respect for the Titan-who knows...But it does happen.
