Duramax

Okay, I will admit that a gas burner will usually beat a diesel hog on take-off, but when it comes to pulling a serious amount of weight you all know a diesel would take out a titan any day. You guys talk about your little ***** races but who the hell buys a truck to race? My duramax would probably lose to your titans in a race but who cares? I bought my truck to pull goosneck trailers loaded to the max with 15000 pounds of hay on the trailer, and there is no way a titan could do that. Some of you guys compare your titans with something that isnt comparable. Most of the people who buy diesels buy them for pulling ability and not for speed so its not right to compare them.

So your comparing a 2500 series truck to a 1500 and expect a even comparison in towing? If your fond of your Chevy bring to the table what a Silverado 1500 can tow and your point would be much more reasonable.

If you wish a discussion out of ones class why not go to the Peterbuilt forum and see what they think of your trucks towing capacity

Diesels are almost always the guys that want to race my truck. I don't instigate most of the races I'm involved in, which aren't very many. Most diesels out here are modded anywhere from mild to wild, and these guys just love to show off their expensive rigs and mods...and I don't really blame them, as most are pretty quick.

re:

you're a dumb@$$.

have you noticed that we are quite honest about this fact? We all know it is a 1/2 ton truck. Thus we think it is the best 1/2 truck on the market. Nowenwhne the 3/4 and 1 tons come out, then we will be honestly able to say it the best overall. Untill then, please leave. Try not to be so narrow minded. You're one of those ignorant foos who will only buy "American" because you think everything else is crap. If you needed a 1/2 ton would you even consider the Titan? Doubtfull. You would probably go with 10 year old technology in a silverado/sierra.

They say ignorance is bliss. You must be the happiest man on earth.

Ive got a Ford F250, 2005 Powerstroke diesel FX4 Lariat 4x4 , that will run circles around your Duramax, loaded and unloaded, its got just about every aftermarket bolt on available(including propane injection), what the heck bring on a new C6 Corvette, i ate one for lunch not too long ago in my F250, plus i still pull my 31.9 foot fifth wheel toy hauler, i'll bet theres still enough power to spank your cheby when i'm fully loaded. Its better looking too so bring it on.

The truck wasn't bought to race but to have a good mix of performance and utility for what can be expected out of a HALF TON. Now you ask why do we sometimes race or have a little fun with arguably the best performing 1/2 ton stock truck. BECAUSE WE CAN!

Don't come on to here and talk about us comparing our trucks to something that isn't comparable when that's exactly what your doing flamer. If you had a tactful, constructive way about getting your point across than that would have been OK but since you got a attitude. I'm not going to waste any more time with your azz.

I bought my truck for daily transportation and loads which run much less than whats listed in my tow range. I dont have a goose neck trailor and I doubt I would ever need to haul 15000 pounds in my lifetime.

I'm glad your truck fits your needs as well as my truck meets my own.

Theres no hard feelings and the next time I see you loaded down and on the road I will make sure to wave after I pass.

Hey Chep, I must admit I envy those built diesel's like you have. Man, if your running with the C6's take that thing to the track for goodness sake and shoot some vid. There's not much more that gratifies me as much as seeing a truck stomp on some performance cars. Especially a huge diesel like yours running with Vetts.

I don't understand those Duramax Diesels. I mean, my Eclipse would totally kill one at an autocross. Especially with that goose neck trailer, you'll be knocking down every cone in sight! I bought my car to race, who cares if only a couple straws of hay will fit under the hatch?
