Titan Vs Excursion

Well on my way to work this morning I pull up to a redlight. About the same time an older man pulls up to me in his puke green Excursion. Not many cars around at all since it was pretty early in the morning. So the guy starts reving his engine and giving me a grin. I thought to myself no way this old guy can be serious, he looked in his 60's. This is the first time I really went for it race style in my truck. Once the light turns green he punches it. I do the same with just a bit of delay to make sure he wasnt trying to make me look like an a$$. I laid a decent about of goodyear down and we were off. I lunged right pass him almost immediatley. I slowed down at about 70 and had him by a little more than the whole lenght of his excursion. The lane finally merged into one lane and he gave me a couple taps from his horn and a flached his park lights. Not a bad experience for my first legit race. I love this truck!!!

An excreation is obviously no match for the mighty titan. Good kill.

Unless he had serious mods, he shouldn't have come close. A diesel Excursion 0-60 is 10.7, 11 for the V10. You should be in the 7s. Even with a Gale Banks mod on the diesel, he'd be hard pressed to break into the high 8s and the banks setup gives him an extra 100 hp and 220 tq over stock.

Should be a 10 even 0-60 and 17 quarter.

It was not close considering: #1. He got about a second start on me #2 I spun the tires and did not have much traction right away #3. I blew by him like a fart in the wind and still continued to gain until I slowed down.

He raced in street class, I can't remember where in the 16's it was but it was around 16.5. He was here at Las Vegas at 2100ft altitude.

I watch sometimes but I don't race my car at mayhems. I'm in the points series so we race on Saturday, I sometimes go to the test and tune before midnight mayhem though, and I like the new Thursday night street war thing that they have.
I thought I saw a Titan or two at the Mayhem once.
I'll be in the raggedy red roadrunner that needs paint BAD, but is pretty quick
if you make it out to the next race. I'm not sure if I'll be in street(sportsman)
or Pro since I ripped the valvestem away from the tube and I need new tires so I have some slicks and they won't let me run with slicks in street class.
hope to see you out there, jim.

The new diesel excursions will do a high 8 second pass 0-60 mph, and a mid to high 16 sec 1/4 mile, not to shabby for a 7,500+lbs vehicle.
