mustang + chevy silverado all in one

so im heading home tonight from a long day at work, coming down a busy interstate here in miami. this is a 3 lane interstate..im on the left, in the middle is a young kid with a brand new chevy silverado crew cab, and on the far right i see a brand new mustang gt. i hear the mustangs engine roaring, then the kid in the chevy, me i just wait patiently for green. i have a 05 titan crew cab, color (red alert) i have about 1250 miles on it. so i turn on my radar detector full strength and off we go. wow Big Red, thats what i nicknamed my truck, made me proud. it was a big joke. i see the chevy and the mustang like 3-4 car length behind me..and i know they went full blast, none of us slowed down. then came the next street light on red. then i start to roar my engine....and them well nothing. off we went our separate ways.....and Big Red standing tall and proud

You beat a brand new mustang gt, wow you must be running 13.8 or better in the 1/4 mile or 0-60 in under 5 seconds. He must have not been racing.

The Mustang wasn't racing. Even if it was a V6. The '05s have a 4.0L V6 and are good for mid 15s or better. The '99+ had a 3.8L and then a 3.9L V6 putting out 193 hp and were good for mid 15s also. Not saying you couldn't beat one, but it wouldn't be by alot.

I have to agree with everyone else.
Either it wasnt a new Mustang GT (possibly a V6)
It wasnt racing
Or your truck is running almost a flat 13sec 1/4 to pull it by 4 car lengths

They quit making 4 cyl Mustangs in '93. From '94-'98 they ahd a single port 3.8L V6 and from '99+ they had a split port 3.8L V6. The new '05s have a 200hp 4.0L V6.

I think the Chevy was a good kill, and I think the Stang was enjoying the show.

I hope I didn't come across as a jerk. But I used to have a '00 V6 that I modded and raced. And I still belong to my old Stanf forum. I think a race between a Titan and a V6 Stang would be close. If the Stang is Auto I give the win to the Titan (especially with the Big Tow pkg). If the Stang is manual then it might edge ahead. Also, one of the first things almost every Mustang owner I knows does, regardless of the engine, is swap gears. 3.73s for a 5-speed and 4.10s for an Auto.

This is a particularly wonderful thread for me, because it gives me a taste of both worlds! A Mustang and a Titan! Woohoo!
