Titan-vs-SL500???

No I didnt tear up an SL500...that just wouldnt happen! However I went head to head with one at a little over 100mph winding through the hills of the toll roads in OC, Ca. We went at it for quite awhile, weaving in and out of lanes, and probably making a few drivers soil their seats! Not that I condone this type of behavior, but it felt pretty good when the Mercedes finally backed off, might have even shown me a bird in his window...! Semi-professional driver, please do not attempt this at home!!! LOL

Re: Titan-vs-SL500???

Was it a guy or girl driving the car? Cuz I know in O.C. theres nothing but yuppy moms driving expensive cars thinking they are the...you know. Heck for all I know, you probably didn't beat him, but you did make him think about the TITAN. Our engine is stronger than the 5.0 in that Benz...I'm a Benz fan. ML500, SL500, S500, E500....all have the the same friggin engine. With a couple mods...like a chip-which we don't got, we can give one a good run at a track. Last time I checked, their quater mile is near the low and mid 14's. I beat a C-class Kompressor going up the 405N Topanga pass. I was ahead and he could never pass me, until we hit traffic ahead....I slowed down after that.

Re: Titan-vs-SL500???

I worked for a Benz dealer when the SL500 replaced the 560SL. Quite a car. I have a lot of @ss time in the seat of a SL500. That means I got to beat the crap out of someone elses expensive car. Our Titans will pull 0-60. Don't engage an SL through the twisties.

Don't engage the SL on the high end either. It's computer doesn't shut it down to 149mph.

Re: Titan-vs-SL500???

Titan Fan 59 is right. In 1989 Mercedes and BMW signed a truce to limit cars to 149 mph before eng. mgmt. systems kicked in. All of us that were in employ of M/B were mad because we got the V-12 at the same time as the Beemer chumps down the street. It still didn't stop impromptu (and secret) drags behind the Wendy's. Imagine if you will...My(dealers) M/B 600SEL against a (another dealers) 750iL in a 4 block drag race. 300k worth of cars racing for the bet...a Wendy's triple w/fries. Frosty for the grudge. Only in Lakeland, Fl.
