What is the deal with morons?

Why is it that I live in the Motor City, and all I get are foreign cars wanting to race the Titan? I cant seem to get any Dodge Ram Hemi owners to run against the Titan, But today while I was out some kid has moms grocery getter Volvo 950 turbo Wagon, and he wants to run the Titan.

Now I understand a kill is a kill, but come on folks, please bring something out that is a little more fun to run against. I really dont feel like flogging my Titan at every stop light just so I can prove that its faster than a Yugo. Also it makes for a boring story here on Titantalk.

I just want my races to be a little more challenging. A VOLVO? Dear god rescue me from racing station wagons.

I refuse to run the Titan against anything else until someone brings something interesting out. I dont mind being beaten by a Porsche, Ferrari or Vette, Neon SRT-4's . I know better than to run em. But I wouldnt mind the occasional older Mustang, Trans AM or Z-28, Porsche Boxster (not the S). Just something that will make me go HMMMMMMMMMMM. Dodge Ram Hemis, 300C's, Crossfire SRT, something.

But all I seem to get are strange people in strange vehicles wanting to see if they can beat the Titan.

At least you're getting some interest. I've never had anyone act like they wanted to run. When I had a Mustang, the only trucks I would have bothered with were things like the Cyclone/Typhoon and Lightning. The car would have smoked a Titan or Ram, and I didn't really consider it to be a super fast car. I think a lot of the car guys might feel kind of like you in that they don't what to put a whoopin' on their car to show up a pickup truck.

I dont really even notice that there arent too many things to Kill out here lol. Past the occasional Ricer nothing really races period lol.
Boxster??? i wouldnt run one even thow its not an S.

My 98 Dodge Neon R/T. I dont have any issues with keeping up with them. Not that my Neon is stock, but I am sure the Titan could give a standard Boxster a run for its money. They were pretty underpowered cars, hence the reason they brought out the S version. I think if you look in to the 0-60 times for the standard Boxster you will find that they arent that great.

When i picked my truck a Porsche Boxster was one of my choices but i chose the Titan over it.
The Titan is fast but after being in the Porsche and then in the Titan it felt like a boat lol.
Titans dont run 6.4 0-60's(stock) sorry.

All I have seen for the original Boxster says 6.9 seconds 0-60. The S is down much lower, but the original is not all that quick.

Besides, who owns a stock Titan?

I am willing to be the guinee pig for this one... I got smacked by an S after making eyes and chatting with the guys wifey at a light. Realistically, I bet he was pretty suprised. The titan had him until the higher RPM's. I think she really liked me too

must have been the truck.

I read the originals were just under 7 seconds like you said then they went to 6.2 with a manual and 6.9 with an auto.

Don't be so quick to judge those newer Volvos. I was in my uncle's '87 TPI Vette with straight pipe and a guy in a newer turbo 850 wagon tried to pass me from a 35mph roll. He got the jump and held his 1 car length gain until 70mph when I back off and let him in.

I can walk his '84 CFI Vette in my Titan, but the '87 will totally spank the '84 and probably the Titan as well.

Either the straight pipe is killing the low to mid range TQ of the TPI (which I suspect) or the Volvo was modded (which I suspect as well). However, I was really suprised how the 850 was able to lunge foward and keep slightly ahead until I backed off.

i no longer waste my time w/ other big trucks....maybe a dodge hemi once and a while but thats about it.

i DO make it a point to "flog" my titan against mildly, hopped-up imports (civic, preludes)

I agree but then again i dont really race my truck as much as i use too, becuase its a truck lol.
The occasional Ricer is plenty for me.

too bad you arent in FL....I know a '01 T/A that will race ya.

I'd make sure he didnt use his nitrous as well, otherwise the results would be horrific instead of just ugly. He turned in a 12.4 @ 126 I believe. Slow launching so as to not destroy his already fragile rear end, combined with a 2.72 gear, and nasty FL heat. I keep pestering him to get a 12bolt under there with a 4.10 and some WIDE tires, not those damn 245s.... With slicks and a good rear end that car should be into the 11s.

Also be wary of the occasional Mitsubishi Evo...a 4banger that bone stock will do a 13.5 or so and is awd. And they respond VERY well to modifications.
