Lincoln LS V8 goes down.

I know I know, not much of a kill, but there he was following me up Woodward Ave. bobbin and weaving in and out of traffic trying to catch up with me, we finally hit a light and he pulls up next to me. He has his window down and blips the throttle a few times and gives me the nod.

I just couldn’t resist hearing the K&N and Banks exhaust sing their sweet song one more time. The light went green, I heard the chirp of the Lincoln’s tires and we were off to the races. By the time we hit 70 I had 4 lengths on him and the gap was increasing.

He fell in behind me and did not bring the poor little Lincoln next to the Titan again. He eventually turned off Woodward and made sure he avoided my Sh!t eating grin. He had to perform the walk of shame back to his normal mundane life.

I like the LS cars. I would have thought they would do better than that.

He must not have pinned it. Those are some pretty quick little cars in fact they ran with a BMW 540(old bodystyl). They were real close in times in the Motor Trend shoot out too (within .2) seconds and the BMW ran a 6 second 0 to 60. If he had it pinned he would have blown you away.

He was a full go

The LS V8 has an enormous 280hp, not sure why you guys would think that the little LS would be that bad a$$. My friend has an LS V8. Its not very impressive. Take one for a drive some time.

I usually humiliate them with my little Neon. Its more fun to embarass Porsches on track day with it though.

LS V8 numbers from many sources:

Model 0-60 Time (s) 1/4 MileTime (s) Source

2000 V8 7.2 15.4 Motor Trend Jan ‘00 - 3.58 gear

2000 V8 7.3 15.5 Road and Track - 3.58 gear

2000 V8 7.5 15.7 Car and Driver May ‘00 - 3.31 gear

2002 V8 7.3 15.4 LLSOC estimate - new airbox & 2nd ratio

2003 V8 6.5 14.9 Car and Driver Mar ‘03 - 3.58 gear

2003 V8 6.42 N/A Lincoln’s claim

2003 V8 6.8 N/A Motor Trend May ‘03

I need to go to the track

With the mods on the Titan, Banks exhaust, K&N FIPK, Throttle body spacer, I need to see what the lil Titan does 0-60 and 1/4 mile. It pulls very hard. Also I always run 93 octaine in all my toys. Just a bad habbit. (I have to in the Neon and Vector) So the Titan just benefits.

Stock times are 2004 Nissan Titan 5.6SE Crew Cab 6.9 0-60 and 1/4 15.40

I have an 96 Continental and I had to know which was faster, the short of it is the Lincoln won. Not by much but it did. The Continental has the DOHC 4.6L Modular much like the Cobra Mustang used to, it is no slouch. I have no experience with the LS though. Once I get the Titan tuned up I will have to run them again.
