War StoriesThis section is for discussion of any races you may have particpated in. If you smoked someone like a pack'o'cools, let us know. Likewise, if you got beat... let us know by what, so we can keep an eye out for it next time.
on my way home from dinner and a jacka$$ in a late 80's firebird v6 was next to me acting like a jacka$$ (reving engine, lurching forward) so the light turned green and then he turned green w/ envy ......from that, a late 90s dodge 1/2 ton got on my a$$ and then when two lanes opened up i got over and let him get next to me--->light turned green and it was over real quick, once he got past me he kept reving his engine and that gave me a good laugh.
Nice double kill. Need a bumper sticker that says "Please dont make me waist my gas on you"!

I always thought the 2000 would be an awesome car to own. Had pretty impressive specs and not a bad pricetag. Redlines at about 13 grand??? You must have a ball in that car. I've only noticed one or two around here in the last few years.
i raced a S2000 a while back i was bone stock as was he and i was keepin up with him. by the time i hit the governor on my truck i was at about the front seam on his driver side door and o ya the whole thing started caz i flew by him doin about 100 racing a rsx which i beat all the way until i hit governor. and he had intake full catback exhaust with rims and drop. but ya i believe with if a titan with intake and exhaust VS stock S2000 then it would be a close call and o ya the titan would need to drop the speed limiter and maybe some better tires.

This car is loads of fun. My gf and I use it to its fullest potential with many track (road tracks etc) events and auto-x events. You can drive this car like a civic and get excellent mileage or beat the snot out of it repeatedly at the track. (some days it will see a FULL day on the track sine we have two drivers. I get off, hand over the keys and my gf gets back on ) (btw, 10Krpm redline with fuel cut off at 10.2K )

Sorry bro i've been in a few titans now for test drives and it doesn't compare at all. He was probably messing around with you or left it in 6th . The power to weight ratio is a landslide.

No close calls. The Titan would be left like it was standing still. If you got on a road course it would be shameful. Kinda like the time I raced my buddy home from work. It was all backroads. He had his late model vette, after one or 2 curves I decided to let him go and keep on living. It was fun catching up to him on the straights, but that was only because he would occasionally get stuck behind someone. My guess is the 2000 would beat the vette on a road course if it was tight enough.
Well I'm comparing fast cars to fast trucks, I'm sure I'd get him in the snow or offroad
When it comes to road course driving its 90% driver though. I've passed more capable cars on the track many times AND have had less capable cars pass me. Unless we're talking about a huge difference (enzo vs s2000) you can almost take the car out of the picture. This is why I laugh when people argue based on facts in a magazine.
Funny you mention about snow. I drive my S2000 year round and I have gone places where 4wd trucks have been stuck . Mind you they had all-season tires on but it's the thought that makes me laugh. In the snow i can generally out accelerate, out manoeuvre, and out brake with winter tires obviously. I could out accelerate my TJ in the S2000 in the snow LOL
more than being able to smoke some cars why race at all?
it endangers others lives and you dont have the right to do that
that having been said
i was coming home last nite from my moms where we had thanks giving
and i was the only one on the highway for several miles (i was also in the right lane)
and a little Honda civic was entering the highway via the ramp
he started to speed up to get to my speed (60) then overtake me
and pulled in front of me doing i guess 80 or so (remember in the right lane)
i figured the child was gonna drive off fast and be gone from my site soon
i never touched my gas as i was on cruise control at 60
the kid then slammed on his/her brake trying to get me to rear end his
wind-up car
well i hit the brake (not real hard)
but enought to slow down and avoid hitting him
this was about 10:00 at nite dark as hell in the country
so i honked my horn as a reflex as i was slowing down
i pulled into the other lane and slowed down farther
this child pulled into that lane and slowed down too
again forcing me to break
this little maricon tried a second time to get me to hit him/her
so i slowed down again and he went away at the next exit ramped
it is obviouslyand attempt to get me to hit him or to get me to race him'
either way this joto
needs a good *** whipping
and needs to learn manners
just thought i would share

I won't argue. You've got the experience I lack (well not if I count the go carts I ride every year, oval tracks at the shore )
But I WILL challenge you to a road course in which you get to Drive my Titan and I get to drive your 2000 (hey can't blame me for tryin )
Also agree on the tires. I put 4 blizzaks on a subaru outback and it was awesome. Also used to put chains on my Mitsubishi Cordia. The H-Rated Toyo tires were a nightmare in winter, but the chains cleared that problem up pretty well.
