I have an appointment with circuit city tomorrow to get the remote starter and power door locks installed. I went to drop off the truck while my brother followed me in my 03 lancer evo VIII.
He was following me so I slowed down a bit, he switched to the right lane and as soon as he got next to me, it was on. I down shifted to 3rd while going 40mph and floored it. The Titan roared and quickly passed the evo. The evo wasn't expecting the little race. After I beat him, he does the fly by.
About 30 feet ahead we did it again. As soon as I came up next to him--leaving the e-shift on 3rd--I honked 3 times and for a second or two the Titan stayed right along side the Evo. Then it SLOWLY and surely put some distance on the Titan. I slowed down once the Evo gained about 2+ car lengths.
I was actually pretty satisfied with the Titan, it didn't let me down. Racing In the Evo, I only had about a 2 car length lead on a modded WRX so the Titan didn't do so bad.
Or a very sick EVO. Don't they hit 60 in less than 5 seconds and run mid 13 second quarters?

yes
the titan is no match for that class and that stock car. Our trucks are beasts in weight!
Drop that engine in a Z, lets try that again

Are you sure your brother was driving right? I know AWD cars are slow from a roll but I drive STI's and EVO's all the time with my job and they blow me away. When I get back in my Titan it feels like its not even moving.
I worked for Mitsubishi HQ. I drove many Evo before. There was no in hell the Titan can beat the Evo. There was something wrong with your brother's EVO. May be he didn't want to "hurt" his car or your feeling.
Yea I have 2 freinds that own EVO's and they are 12 sec cars stock with the right driver...
so I am thinking either the person was messing with you or just doesn't now how to drive there car ot it wasn't a EVO....Maybe a lancer with a body kit...

Read the posts carefully, the EVO belongs to the owner of the Titan, so it's probably an EVO (03 Lancer Evo VIII). Also he didn't beat the EVO but he did say essentially that it hung with it pretty closely for a while. Big difference.

Never argue with idiots. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
