Im not sure what you mean by this either. Titans are ALL automatics. When one enguages in a speed contest, common practice is to jam the go pedal through the floorboard. As it is, taking our trucks past 5k RPM is slowing us down by taking our motors out of thier usable power range. Furthermore, manually shifting our tranny's has been proven to slow 1/4 mile times at the track by several tenths.


Relax, take a breath, accept that although the Titan is a quick truck in the world of stock trucks, it is not the end-all, be-all of performance machines.

I have a feeling the truck scene is rather tame in your hometown. In SoCal, the abundance of beast like trucks is amazing. A few days ago I watched a scsb silverado that looked and sounded stock launch from a 40+ mph roll and nearly wheelie into a 60mph two wheel burnout. Talk about power.

I will step in here and take up for Slowprocess. He is not BS ing yall. His numbers are true. We are from the same area and I know what he says about his truck is the truth, its damn fast! Is that video up at the track in Millington? Hey Jeremy let me know when yall go to the track in Greenville, I have been wanting to come check it out. Maybe I can send my Titan down the strip a time or 2 for fun.

well then my titan must be special i have the colum shifter things and you can choose man or auto.do you want a pic

No picture needed. In case you didnt know most if not all Titans have this feature on the column shift. It may help a little if racing but not much, it is there for towing purposes.

i use it to get more get up and go. but i think that i will stop racing for awile.i just figured out my gas milage and im getting 10 mpg.thats sucks 2 weeks ago i was getting 22 mpg

Ok, Here goes first post..

Until about 5 Days ago I had a 2003 Chevy Silvy 1500HD Crew Cab with the 6.0L V8. I was able to "WALK" as stated before a Nissan Titan by a full length. Mods were an AEM Brute Force CAI. Now the question is.. Did I walk him because I was the better driver? Because he let up? Because I did'nt?

Hmmmm... I guess I will never know.. (Chances are he let up) How about that for honesty.

Point is on any given day unless at the track where everyone is trying to do their best times overall you just do not know. Did he see something/someone I did not? Hmmm... Could be anything as I should not have been able to WALK a Titan. Mine is wound tight... It runs really well even in comparison to others of the same year. (this is mentioned by others not just by me) This is why I encourage people to test drive multiple vehicles of the same drivetrain to see if you are getting ahold of a dog or not.

I recently purchased the 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71 with the Vortec MAX, 367/375 and it runs very very well. It would surely smoke my previous 6.0L with just at 300 Horses.

Now for the funniest part of my semi racing story.. We are at about 6500ft where I live which severely cripples ANY machine.. So a race here rarely ends at speeds above the posted limit or starts with what most would call a Jack Rabbit start
