Cool I just KNOW it had to be one of you guys.

On my way home from work yesterday(woulda been about 2:20pm I suppose), I'm doing my usual 85-90mph up I75 and I see a Titan in my rear view cutting his way through traffic behind me. As he flies by me finally, he gets about 50 yards away and then I see taillights and he drops back beside me.... purposely.

I dunno what year. It was debadged on the sides and tailgate. Crewcab. Jet Black with extremely dark tint on the back and rear-side glass, and fairly dark on the front doors. Had been lowered a little, but not slammed. Had what looked like 20", black 6-spoke rims. Front was blacked out as well although the tailgate still had it's chrome. No tailpipes to be seen, so I assume an exhaust dumped before the axle.

Anyways, we're already doing around 90mph at this point and he's pulling forward at full throttle and falling back, then pulling forward at full throttle and falling back... Obviously wants a piece of a Hemi. Since we're already both going so fast anyways, I just wave him off with a smile and thumbs up on his ride.

This guy actually drops back and gets BEHIND me(Not tailgating, just a couple lengths back) and follows me for 2-3 more exits till I get off at Renner Rd. Damned if he doesn't exit too. As we turn onto Renner, he stays right there on my tail, so I figure if we end up together at the next light, why not.

There we are at the next light, sure enough he right beside me, reving like a 16 year old, but I can't really see him through the tint.

Light changes, I force myself to get a good launch. very little spin and I'm gone. Problem is, he's gone too and pulled away from me pretty hard. And kept pulling away from me. Before we had to slow for the next light, he had about 2 trucks on me.

I get up next to him at the next light and I can barely see him in there. He waves and I can tell he's smiling, and then he honks and exits back onto the freeway.

Well, that's what I'd been looking for. A Titan with mods. I just gotta sit and wonder now W_T_F he had done to that thing to pull on me so hard like that. Is there one of you guys here in Dallas area with a Turbo or Charger on it? Nos? I just gotta know now!!

Anyways, while I search for who that might have been, I thought you Titan boys would get a kick out of that story.

Re: I just KNOW it had to be one of you guys.

Thanks for sharing...

I wish I could say it was me, but it wasn't, I don't have a black Titan-not too mention, I'm probably 1,000 miles away, oh, and not many mods...

I do know that a dealership in TX, not sure where exactly, had a deal with a local speed shop and sold S/C Titan's, maybe that was one...??

Yea, imagine MY suprise at seeing his tailgate getting smaller. No way a CAI & Exhaust is going to outrun me, much less walk me that way. It had to be SC'd, Turbo'd or Juiced. I was already smiling at the light. I fully and undoubtedly expected to put him in his place pretty easy.

I'm just hoping whoever it is is a member here and will pipe in.

Yea, I'll be posting this there as well. I'm not ashamed. I got owned fair and square. And by a Titan!!!

Badly!!!!

I think it'll humble the Hemi crowd a bit seeing this.

Here ya go!

Modified it just a hair to fit the DT board, but left the story intact.

Re: I just KNOW it had to be one of you guys.

Incidentally... A few months ago, I bought my wife a new 7.2mp Sony digital camera, so our old 1.3mp has been a spare sitting in the drawer.

It's now in the center console of my truck as of this morning. I plan to start getting a shot of anything I end up racing from now on.
Wish I'd had it yesterday!

wow, that sounded pretty sick. see, now if more guys would actually tell 'killed' stories instead of 'kill' stories we might be able to make some progress. I'm still shocked you weren't able to stay up with him though. He must have put some serious $$ into it. That dude MUST have known he was bad to follow you around.

Well... I do make a big target. My truck isn't lowered or have a nice stereo or anything like that. Mine has the Bedstripes and decals on the back window for almost all my performance upgrades. So, mine makes a different statement really. I'm more or less saying "All I've done to my truck is make it faster, wanna race? "

If I was him, with a gob of cash dropped in my truck and knowing full well I could likely take me, I'd have picked me out of the crowd as well. He could look at my back window and do a quick calculation on whethor or not he could take me, I'm sure.

I refuse to be one of those guys that wants to make you GUESS what's under there. Here's what I got. If you think you can take me, then fine! I'm game.... win or lose.

I didn't pick the fight(Race) with him, but I certainly advertised that I was ready in a passive method. It's different to be chased down for a race like that, but not really suprising. He definately has more time on his hands than I do though!
