Silverado 2500HD Vs. Titan

Like some mention earlier (Heli i think) the 2500 takes off the line alot quicker. I was at a red and a white 2500HD pulls up. I was minding my own business and when the green went on, he shot forward......okay, he wants to race...I gun it and was about 4 car lengths behind him. Again..I didn't know he wanted to race. Then by the time I reached him and passed him with half a truck ahead, I was going 60 to 70 and shut it down till we hit the next light. Again, this time I was ready, with intersection full of cars waiting for their green light to go, they saw the Titan and the 2500HD were gonna get down. Light turns green, 2500 takes lead but when I hit 50, I was already passing him. Since I was racing the truck I passed IN-N-Out (what I wanted) and had to turn right to get McDonalds instead(AGAIN). A nice demonstrations that the Titan can take on any truck...except for a excluded few *COUGH* SRT10 *COUGH* Lightning*Cough*Harley Davidson F-150. I know better not to mess with them.

Torque is king, but the weight killed him.

UUUUUUUHH No ! I didnt say the 2500 HD is faster off the line. I said I was faster off the line by far. My buddie doesnt have the HD but he does have the 300 HP Chebby 2500 and I did mis-state earlier because when we race at 45 mile per hour roll he doesnt really pull on me, he ever so slowly gains on me but not by much. If we go at it off the line its bye bye baby (for him that is)!!

Re: Silverado 2500HD Vs. Titan

Did the HD have the 6.0L gas or the Duramax deisel Ive owned both trucks and the 6.0 is no where near as fast as the Titan and the Duramax would be a good race. I would have figured the Titan would beat both of the line though.

Re: Silverado 2500HD Vs. Titan

well i wouldnt be suprised if the titan was beat during a roll, in an 04' comparison a range rover's 60-80 was exactly the same as the titan.

It wasn't a Duramax seeing it had no badging so I took it that it was the higher end gas model...but I wouldn't know. Deseils aren't for go...their for tow.

Apperently you haven't been keeping up the the deisels technology lately. When my titan was in the shop for the broke rear end they gave me a Z-71 HD with the 6 liter and I know my titan would smoke that truck. I was disapointed with that truck.

I have a video on my hard drive of some guy's F-350 crew cab long bed Powerstroke (possibly 4x4 from the height of the front) blast a 11.42s 1/4 mile at 118MPH. Modded diesels these days can tow and GO.

There are some Diesels out there that would smoke alot of trucks. I just saw the Bully Dog Diesel at the track last weekend run 11.7.
In an upcoming episode of "pinks" it runs 11.2 and takes the other guys ride.

OH I KNOW THERE is D's that can whoop my truck. But you don't see any out here in Cali...or they are rare. But I have to admit...D's are cool trucks. Trust me, I have my repect for them and I do have a favorite which is a Dodge Cummins.

A week ago i was behind a cummins that was lined up with a duramax.....the duramax took the ram before the end of the lane merge ,,,i followed waiting for the next two lane section with a light ,,, and i got my chance next to the duramax. I just had to show him what my "little" lifted on 35's nissan could do,,He was ready power braking i heard the turbo spooling up but i just waited till the light changed and i gave her 3/4 throttle thru first and then full throttle in 2nd,,i had him by my rear bumper after the shift and steady pull to 70 and i was 5 trucks ahead..he was not to happy

You got a Cummins or a Hemi? Cuz I said I already said I had my respect for D-boys. But if your wanting to race me and my truck, lets see how your truck does all stock and with an exhaust and K&N drop in only. I'm in the San Fernando Valley.
