War StoriesThis section is for discussion of any races you may have particpated in. If you smoked someone like a pack'o'cools, let us know. Likewise, if you got beat... let us know by what, so we can keep an eye out for it next time.
Posted it in the got a ticket thread but since it was kind of a race I'll put it here as well.
I didn't get a ticket but pulled a bonehead move yesterday while in downtown Baton Rouge. Cop car pulls up next to me at a light but not door to door he was back a bit. I thought he was a Denham Springs cop in Baton Rouge for whatever so when the light went green I punched it. I had him by 6 lengths as I was rapidly passing 55mph and that's when he hit the lights to pull me over. The cops here always gun it away from redlights like they are on their way to a 187 so I was just goingto flex the Titan on him a bit. He pulls me over and asks me what the hurry is and I gave him the excuse that I was on my way to an appointment and running late. He said the way you left the light I thought we were racing and was looking to see if your back tires were smoking. I got him to laugh a few times and he saw I was a decent taxpayer so he let me off with a warning. Ohh, we were in a 40mph speed zone when I decided to take him on. I got lucky that would have been a few bones for sure.
In Cali...your car would of been impounded...taxpaying...what the hell does that got to do with letting you off?!!
What would it have been impounded for? Leaving a red light too quickly, improper takeoff. I hope they don't impound for that there. Taxpayer, well I was in a 2k dollar suit, just ate a mentos and stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night (simply meant I'm not a kid raising hell).
he he.....it was nice to talk my way out of this one. If I wouldn't have paid my ticket in your state Fritz I would have had to been in court on the 8th of this month. Man they get down to business quick over there, here you can go 3 months before the first appearance.
I was in Baton Rouge for Katrina for 3 days flying medevac in New Orleans, then for the next month I was at New Orleans Naval Station. I drove from New Orleans to Baton Rouge on hwy 10 to make beer runs doing 100+ in a government car

Yeah, try not to mess with them. Not as bad as Ohio though. The Staties( as the HP is called there) carry ZON machines so you can pay your ticket onthe spot with a credit card. I think they only do that on I77 and I70, but still kinda scary.

Your pretty safe on 10 between NO and BR but between BR and Slidell on
12 they are like flies on ****. Being the major corridor it is I can see why, everything from Texas going to the east coast comes across it.
