Bought a new Truck, 0-60 in 2.3 seconds!
Well I sold my Camaro to a friend and was looking for another chevy racecar.
I saw a great deal in the paper and jumped on it, a 1951 Chevy truck with a fiberglass tilt front end and a 400 smallblock, powerglide, 9" rear end combo for $8000.
I thought, yeah, probably a nice 11 second ride, that will do.
I get over there and I've seen the truck before and he opens the front and I see lots of wicked go-fast parts. I remembered seeing the truck at the track running mid 10's, but he said that was with a lower rpm rev chip. He said it ran a best ever 9.87 at 141 at sea level!!!
I started asking him questions like how much does it weigh and he then told me that he recently bought it from the guy that built it and didn't really know alot about the truck.
I took it home and started going through the paperwork and found a few timeslips. I posted the numbers from them in the sig.
Needless to say I miss the Camaro but have found an excellent replacement.
I'll post some pics as soon as I paint it, it is a yucky baby blue color right now, and that baby needs a fresh coat of cool black paint to go with the old school slotted mags!
Some folks buy a new Hyundai for 8 grand, I'm so glad I didn't.
Later!
