04 KC Titan vs. "Modded" Dodge Dakota R/T + 1990-91 Chevy 454 SS

well its was about 7pm and i was at the stop lite bye my house and this guy pulls up in his dakota R/T 5.9, now this nick guy driving the truck is supposed to have exhaust, cai, cams, ecu, gears etc..., and im like well mabey i won't win but lets see what happens, oh my titan completly stock, just for a little longer though,
anyway i rev it he revs it, light goes green, we both gunn it and where neck to neck till about 40-45mph and he starts creeping on me, and by 75 he has got my bye a nose. i let off he let off and we where on our way.

now i don't know what he does or doesn't have done to the thing but i can vouge for the exhaust i heard it.

all in all not to bad.

number two.
the 454 ss its my buddys truck and we ran them one night, agian im all stock but there where me(i way 370lbs) and two other normal sized people in my truck and some wood in the bed, and he had his girlfriend and hes got exhaust and its lowerd.
we ran them till about 90-100mph twice and he was ahead of me the whole time by a fender but he never could pull any farther past me than that.

Sounds like if you added a few mods, the results would probably be different.

Exhaust and CAI and you should be able to take both of these guys pretty handily.

Nice runs. Honest too! At least you admit that you lost. Anyways, that 454 SS won't beat you if you add the CAI and cat-back. The TITAN has MANY restrictive components that holds its potential. Go to a track next time, it shows what you are really made of.

Beware a older Chevy that appears well taken care of.

Theres no telling what he may have under the hood from GM's crate engines.
such as a-
ZZ4 350 crate motor with 405 ft/lbs of torque and 355hp.
ZZ383 425 horsepower at 5400 RPM, and 460 ft.lbs. of torque at 4500 RPM
ZZ454 440hp 500ft/lbs of torque
ZZ502 502HP and 567ft/lbs of torque.

It would take very little effort to drop any of these into a Chevy C1500
