Arrow More for the story book. Went to Irwindale last night!

Whats going on guys? I took a trip to Irwindale again to do some runs with the new intake to see what gains I have reaped. This time, my times have improved over my last runs without the CAI. Heres the details that happend that night. I only did two runs because they closed the track for a Burnout contest. So here goes! My #2808

First run: I'm on left lane. 90's Civic Hatchback w/slicks and mild mods. CAI/Full exhaust system/slicks/gutted interior. I hold the truck at 1400rpms until the last amber and leaned into WOT. We both red light it and he ended up finishing first with a huge lead. I had a faster MPH but he dominated in every category. Less weight per horsepower is the explanation.

Second run: I'm on left again. On right 96 Corvette?..it was the last style before the new one but not a ZO6 thats for sure. Corvette W/22s w/lowpros. No mods visible.
We both stage, the tree goes down to green and I punch into WOT instead of leaning into WOT. I notice the Corvette isn't with me, and looked at my rearview and saw that he was at my bumper and creeping up. By the time he caught up we were neck and neck at the finish line. He had a faster 1/8 so he technically won. But the driver was young, and it was probably his first time which could mean anything at the staging area. He missed a gear, burned out too much...whatever it maybe. More than 300+ people witnessed a TITAN ahead of a Corvette....priceless...even if I technically lost.
Anyways, I had fun that nite and the best thing I saw out there was a black Duramax 4x4 desiel w/slicks on all 4 run a 7.54 1/8.
Anyways, heres my times, and I highly encourage racing at a track. It brings speed to a different level.

Man i bet your truck has earned most of the miles either speeding or in a "race"... congrats love the way your truck looks and kinda envy you for all the fun you have with it... have you had any problems with your truck?

The key was breaking it in properly. I didn't TOW, WOT, or race the truck until it was over 15,000 miles. I only use Mobile 1 on the engine too. I wash it every week and the truck still looks flawless...maybe even better than it did when it came out of the factory.

Yup. I also lowered the pressure on the right rear from 40psi to around 37psi. Its the only wheel that spins and pulls the TITAN out of the hole so hopefully it helped out. Since they are radials...not slicks, I don't need to drop it to a uneccessary 25psi or some really low pressure.

Looks like you would have had a better time then the Civic in a 1/4 mile race....he got you pretty good down low...then by the 1/8 mile you were right on his ***!!

THe civic was a total sleeper. I know if the inside is gutted...theres more to it than that fart pipe. Right off the line he was pulling. Maybe on the 1/4 I would of made some sort of a comeback. My focus is getting out of that hole.

Re: More for the story book. Went to Irwindale last night!

Whats up guys? Check this out, my friend just bought a used Lincoln LS V8 Luxury sedan. He keeps bluffing that he will smoke me and I say that we test his theory at the track so its on. He said he smoked a TITAN and I asked him when. He said he was going 120mph and the TITAN couldn't catch up...well, I told him our limited stops at 115 and then I got more hot air. Any experiences....suggestions...comments?

You might have to borrow my old Q45 for that race.
