2500HD Duramax Diesel vs 05 KC Titan XE

So I was leaving work today and messin with a buddy who also has a titan. I was revving my exhaust at him because I he doesn't have one yet. He got caught in traffic and next thing I know this 2500HD Duramax Diesel extended cab flys up on my a$$ and gets in the other lane so I wait a while pass him then he pulls beside me. I call my buddy and hes like smoke that chevy. So we're drivin slow letting the cars in front of us get further ahead. He (this is an old guy) waves at me tellin me to go so I step on it and so does he. Needless to say I walked him like a dog, no contest. Pulled on him from the start and kept pullin.

I raced one of those on the expressway, he was driving like an idiot in between cars and cut right in front of me so I cut back around and floored it ahead of him he did too but he couldn't keep up. I was running 105-108 but his speed limiter was holding him back when I let off he flew past me like an *** hole.

Yeah, those Chevy diesel guys are jerks Wonder if either had a programmer, don't know if that would've changed the outcome or not. Sometimes it just gets down to who's the better driver

If they had a programmer it could have been ugly.

Some programmers are insane, mines pretty mild my highest setting will give me close to 400HP and 750FPtrq. The programmers like Predator and Hypertech will disengage your top speed limiter too. Like I said though all the technology in the world won't help a bit if your an idiot

Re: 2500HD Duramax Diesel vs 05 KC Titan XE

I traded my 04 Duramax for the Titan. A Titan will take a stock Duramax, but my Duramax with exhaust, intake and Predator set at 85HP would kill my Titan. I still like the titan better.

yea...stock for stock titan is king...Don't go messin with a chipped/programmed duramax...might get yo feelins hurt.

You can add +124 hp and +303 lb-ft at the rear wheels by adding a Banks 6 gun programmer PDA....

My buddies have a Duramax and Cummins. They are sick. They're putting down 450hp and close to 1000 tq to the wheels.

Re: 2500HD Duramax Diesel vs 05 KC Titan XE

I took on a Duramax not too long ago this week. He pulled out of a gas station and saw the black smoke. This monster was lifted and had liike 4 shocks in each wheel well....for what?!!! I see no dirt on his truck. But anyways, at 40 (Titans sweet spot), I heard him spool and started gaining and I 3/4 trottle it and I was already getting ahead. I would say the big swampers did it for him and he probably had no programmer either. I respect the D-max and the Cummins. Both are monsters when unleashed. The TITAN is still leashed up.

Father-in-law has 04 with Duramax and one of the Banks systems on it. My Titan won't even think about staying close to it, neither will my wifes Spec V....it's a rocket.
