The only one of the 4 kids in the 2 cars racing that was wearing a seatbelt not only survived, but had minor injuries. She might be the only one to survive considering how bad a condition the Honda driver was in.
Is it too early to speculate about how an isuzu suv could keep up with a little honda?

I would be more willing to bet that it was road rage rather than drag racing. I bet the 33 yr old in the isuzu was pissed at the 20 something in the honda. And the woman in the Isuzu was hitting him saying "why do you always do this, just leave it be, your going to get someone killed!!" And as usual Testosteron cant be argued with. The guy in the Honda was probably running from him.

I'd be willing to agree with Heli ^... The immature actions of both sides probably took over and caused that tragedy. As far as seatbelts being used, I don't think that would've helped either people in the Honda, but could've helped the front passenger in the Isuzu. The Honda seemed to be ripped to shreds and crushed like a beer can. The Isuzu looked like it held up fairly well, except for the driver's side, but at 100 mph odds of survival decrease dramatically. Unfortunately, time and time again, these tragic ending races get everyone's attention for a short period of time, then someone else does the same stupid thing...

BU!!SH!T - did you guys read the story. some moron - Dominic Motta - makes a UTURN into oncoming traffic and kills 2 people. Are they calling it drag racing to save the dumb kids a$$ from vehicular manslaughter? Whether they were traveling at a high rate of speed or not the driver of the truck Motta which caused the crash should be responsible.

well, fortunatey for Motta, he wasn't driving like a maniac... the primary cause of the collision is apparent. Had the speeds and drag race not occurred, Motta's U-turn would've been completed safely and thus no collision... as it is only a small percentage of the cause of the collision... just another example of "speed kills"...

just playing devils advocate - great opinions guys but the "drag racing" has not been confirmed. watch the video again. the police have not determined it a fact. the fact IS that Motta made a uturn into oncoming traffic and should have yielded the right of way. does speeding make it ok for someone else to not yield the right of way? what IS the posted speed limit and would the outcome have been the same if they were traveling at the posted speed? TBD.
