Beat by a Park Avenue????

No, not a Titan.... As some of you know, I have an F150, the Titan was a bit out of my price range, so I leased a 2006 F150 supercrew, 5.4 V8, 4X4, for the time being. Well, My dad has a 2004 Park Avenue, and this weekend, as we we gathering the last few things from the old house (in the process of moving), he starts zippin around. So me, thinking even tho its a Ford, it's a V8, no problem! We line up at a light, turns green, he pulled away no questions asked. Now, I admit, I was loaded, but his car wasn't empty either. I probably had a couple hundred pounds more in my truck than his car, but he smoked me. Then we get on the highway, cloverleaf ramp, im in front, WOT as soon as it starts to straighten out. My dad starts creeping up on me, and then next thing I know, all I can see is his tail lights..... So next time some guy with an F150 starts running his mouth, just remember, I got beat by Grandpa's Buick! It wasn't the Ultra either, just the regular P.A.

Can't wait til my lease is up, maybe I can find a used Titan for a good deal. That's January of 08, so anybody on here looking to sell there truck around that time, KEEP ME IN MIND!!!!!

BTW, I know it's not a race involving a Titan, but I thought you guys might get a kick out of it.

Re: Beat by a Park Avenue????

Not the Supercharged Ultra, but the regular 205. Again, I had a load in back, but still, this was pathetic. Considering running my truck off the highway into some trees to total it after that. Then I realized it would probably kill me, which almost made me do it, suicide was the only way out of that defeat!!!!!!!

Re: Beat by a Park Avenue????

I know how you feel with having to settle. I sold nissans for about a year and i ended up with a dodge just because they lease soooo much cheaper. After being in car sales i will never consider buying!!! Hopefully Nissan gets there lease program in order so my next truck could be a titan!!!

I will buy me next one. I want a lift, more power, some nice big tires... You know, a mans truck. I can't justify doing all that to a lease vehicle, but I'm constantly itching to throw the credit card out there and grab at this stuff!

I figure I should be able to grab an 05 or 06 Titan CC 4X4 within my budget once this lease is up. Hopefully anyway. Maybe even one of these lifted guys on here will be looking for a new truck around then!!!

Re: Beat by a Park Avenue????

You're right if you want to do modifications to your vehicles ... then definetely buy a titan. On the flip side if you were to go with a domestic vehicle you can theoretically lease it and buy it at the end for less than if you tried to buy to begin. That is because in a domestic vehicle lease you still qualify for all the rebates + perhaps lease loyalty & the money rates are much cheaper than a conventional buy. If you try to take the 0% then you just lose out on the rebates. With Nissan, you don't get the rebates on a lease and that is why they lease so bad compared to a domestic. The only other option is if you can just write a check for it then you get the best of all worlds

As long as the modifications are bolt-on and ECU friendly...
