[quote=titanman831]Should I trade in my Titan for this?
The MSRP for a 2006 Jeep SRT8 is 46,215.00 loaded with every conceivable option. The New Car Blue Book Value is 42,395.00 so his "lowered special internet pricing" is still nearly $4000 to high. That, and I like your Titan better. Nice truck!

Blue Book is garbage.... simply a guide so people can walk into a dealership and make the salesman's life harder. The Jeep dealer I work for is still selling SRT8's for over sticker. The price is way inline with the market. You think you can get a Vette for sticker? Good luck with that! I say if you can afford to buy a five passanger that does 0-60 in under 5 sec......DO IT. Smoke anyone that steps to you and pick up your kids from soccer when you're finished.

Take a gander in the local papers here....last week there were big discounts on Vipers (8+ grand off sticker)..Vettes, Hummers, and other assorted hot rides.
Car salesmen for the most part have nothing to do with rating your trade...that's up to the sales manager and finance guru.
I don't feel sorry for car salesmen....if there's a will...there's a way to take your money....and I speak from experience...my family were new car dealers (GM, Mercedes, Maserati) in the L A area for nearly 80 years.
And I confess to being one too....working nights selling cars back in the 60's for Ralph Williams Ford in Encino....during the day I worked the parts back counter.

Actually I looked at the corvettes before buying my new Titan and the dealer was offerring them at sticker.
Baseballfanz is right though, get what you like.

Finding a dealer selling that is selling vettes for sticker doesn't justify being able to buy an SRT8 for $38,395.....If you find one at that price you should hop all over it and thank the Lord.

I wasn't saying he should be able to get it for $38,395. I was saying that the blue book of $42,395 was about $4000 less than the MSRP of $46,215 and he should be able to pick one up for around blue book.
Selling prices also vary from state to state. I can only speak as to what I see around here in San Antonio. I see you are in CA so the demand for an SRT8 Jeep might be alot greater there and the markup over MSRP justified.
As for Blue Book being to make a saleman's life harder, I had a salesman practically beat me over the head with it when I went to get a trade in value for my 1987 Buick T-Type Limited. He said that my car was only worth $3000 dollars despite my having 5 years of research into the Buicks and an appraisal stating the car was worth four times that much. He said blue book say $3000. I said blue book was wrong. His words "Blue book is never wrong." Worked out for the best anyway, I would have really been kicking myself if I sold that car.

From todays San Gabriel Tribune auto ads..
2006 SRT8 $39,585...including the $2,000.00 REBATE. It's a demo, but a "hot" car offering a rebate?
The SRT-8 Jeep is a monster. I would love to own one but i can't get out of my Hemi daily driver. Too much upside down when i tried to trade it for a Titan.
I might get the SRT-8 Jeep when i make more money.
