Coming home from the beach today, I noticed a red Z pass up and cut several cars off to the exit. I kept my eye on him and saw a night blue TSX was trying to play tag...wasn't doing much of a good job anyway. So after a hard right turn that turned into a 2 mile strait....I punch it to catch up to the TSX and the Z on the next light. The TSX got the far left lane...and the Z was in front of me on the far right...and a soccer mom van in the middle..just felt like adding that one to give a picture. But anyways....I drop to 1st, light goes green and the Z gradually WOT. I stuck with him and noticed the TSX tried hanging....um....I guess it was the effort that counts. Then I was about a length behind the Z and just stuck behind him, with him gradually pulling away....but not that fast. But anways, I eventually caught up when he let off and gave him a thumbs up and passed him up. Hopefully that gave him an idea that TITAN ain't no joke. Thanks for reading.
I KILLED the TSX, the 350Z...I just played catch-up with him but he kept pulling away. I thought he would be as faster at leaving me behind but he was inching away...I was like....thats it???
350z's are heavier than they look or what you (I) would think they would be. My brother in law just bought one and I was surprised it was right around 3400lbs which is the same as my 2005 GT.
absolutely love the Z.... my mother has one, and everytime i get a chance to drive it, i'm easily getting over/close to 100mph w/o noticing it. nissan made a superior car with the Z, but, i love my titan too....

I have both cars, and I went from a light in my Titan against a friend in her Z a few times. She jumped me from the start by a good two cars, and pulled at least 2 more lengths in each of the first 3 gears (of her car - 6MT). Stock 350s run ~13.5 1/4 mile at over 100mph. Titans rock, but even stock 350s will blow them away from a stop or from a roll.

I've been reading up on the 350z since my brother-in-law got one last month. They seem to be more around 14.0sec 1/4 mile car (+/- .2th) stock from what I can find on the net. Even on the 350z forums they seem to agree that getting a stock 350 below 14.0 is an accomplishment.
I'll see if I can get him to race. Probably not, he is a ISD superintendent but he used to drag race VW bugs & 240z's.
yea, the 350z in 6spd version is somewhere in the mid 14's... that requires a good driver that knows how to shift and the right conditions... where all we do in the titan is punch it and always have the perfect shifts... I've actually beat a brand new 350z before.. I know no one willl probably believe me, but my truck will do high 14's all day so its not saying much...the z I beat might have been not broken in yet.. and I can't remember if it was the 6spd or not...

I've raced a 350Z at the track and won...and have the slip too. It was some young kid. This shows that the car is only as fast as the driver skills will take it. I know the 350 is a mid 13 sec car...but stock and an amatuer driver...a 14 or high 13 is only possible. IMO...

100% agree that at the TRACK anything can happen. It's clearly a bit easier to run consistently with a Titan, but anyone worth their own should be able to run a sub 15s 1/4 mile to beat stock Titan runs of ~15.4s. I've run mine to 14.0 with ease, and a few 13.7-13.8s given good conditions.
