So, the story with this loser in the S-Blazer this morning:
I turn onto the mainline about a block and a half before I need to get onto the freeway. The mainline is a 4-lane, but the guy in front of me is putt-putting along, so I decide to go around him in the passing lane and get over after the traffic light so I'm in the right lane to take my exit. Well, the light turns red and now I'm trapped in the passing lane with only about half a block or less to the exit ramp. So, not trying to be a d1ck, I put my right turnsignal on to signal to the cars in the right lane what my intentions are. Now, normally in this situation, I'd pull away easy and let the cars on the inside lane go by and get over after they are clear, or hope someone will wave me in.
Well, three cars make the right on red and this
PR (that's Puerto Rican for those more PC than myself...) in a tricked out S-Blazer (spinners, chrome wheelarches, crown air freshener on the dash<<<No schitt!) pulls up next to me with the stereo blasting. Now, it's only 6:15 A.M. here. He looks over at me, points to the front of my truck and rolls his head back and laughs, a nice hearty laugh. I turn back trying to ignore him, but then notice he has one foot on the brake and is goosing it. His truck is lurching a bit as he revs it and continues to look over at my truck laughing.
Light's about to go green and I figure, there's 7 or 8 cars behind him, go for it. He's being a putz anyway. Off goes the VDC. Left foot on brake. Right foot poised for takeoff.
Green!
Titan and Chebbie launch. He chirps, I don't - more controlled takeoff. Neck and neck, Titan upshifts to 2nd, and it's like he hit the brakes or something. I lose him like a bad habit and I'm doing about 50 when I take the ramp from the left lane with about 3 car lengths clear! I was amazed at what a pig he had, considering he was the one initiating a drag. Not too bright. But it didn't end there.
I carried some momentum on the ramp, but wasn't racing anymore as it had ended. The freeway is typically crowded and I spy a slot and accelerate to maneuver for the slot. Titan roars up the onramp and I merge easily into traffic. S-Blazer is also getting on the freeway.
Freeway is a 4-lane and my lane isn't moving well, so I go into the passing lane. I pass about 4 cars and catch up to the pack of left lane bandits. We're doing about 60 mph, and the right lane is clear with my exit only 2 miles ahead. I get over into the right lane and ease onto the gas. I'm easing by the cars in the passing lane and I notice in my mirror the S-Blazer is weaving in and out of traffic in both lanes. "What a jerk" I think to myself. "And we wonder why there's so many accidents on here in the morning..."
Left lane clears ahead and I get over to pass a few more cars until I need to exit. I get to a point where I need to get over, it's clear and I get into the right lane to exit. I put my signal on to warn others that I'm exiting. Out of the corner of my eye, I see the S-Blazer coming up fast in the passing lane. As I get into the offramp lane, he blows by me with his arm out the driver's window and he's pumping his fist in the air in victory! I'm like, "WTF?! Race was over 5 miles ago. What the heck is he doing?" Some people are just fools.
I guess, any logic, no matter how distorted, when you are seriously beaten is somehow soothing to those of a lesser organic makeup..... Who knows? Just be a good sport about it. Give props and move on. Don't be a dork.....
