I knew better, but did it anyway!

First encounter with the new Chevy Trailblazer SS. My friend just picked it up over the weekend. It is a used one with like 4K on the odometer. I read the compro in Car and Driver about 6 months ago, and the Trailerbalzer SS lost to, but was able to keep up with the Grand Cherokee SRT-8, so I knew I was in trouble.

We ran twice, 0-60, and a roll on at 40mph, and it wasn't never even a contest. I know this wasn't an "apple to apple" comparison, but those SS's are FAST!

The 0-60, he had at least 3 maybe even 4 lenghts on me, and the roll on was a joke. I even got on the throttle quicker than him, and he showed me his tail lights pretty quick.

But it was still fun, but beware.

Re: I knew better, but did it anyway!

If you have no mods on your truck then I can see it. I would like to hear how say a Titan with intake/exhaust/headers/chip does againest one. Marksalive?

Re: I knew better, but did it anyway!

My truck is decently modded: intake, exhaust, and tru track. The stealership here in Des Moines will not do the 2 degree timing advance for me.

I beleive the SS is rated at 395, 400 ft lbs HP and all wheel drive. Motor Trend has it hitting 0-60 in 5.8 sec.

Think you need a s/c to beat it.

Re: I knew better, but did it anyway!

S/C or nitro will beat it I would bet. And maybe if Stillen get the chip out that could at least hang with it.

Re: I knew better, but did it anyway!

I went to the dyno the same day someone dyno'd their SS.

The supercharged Titan will beat it. This one did not have a speed limiter.

Re: I knew better, but did it anyway!

Im not real sure about any Titan beating a Trailblazer SS, not even juiced. My mother drives one with a 6.0 vette motor with the suspension and wheel package. She can get the groceries in a hurry and look good doing it.

lol. I didn't realize they were that fast. I just assumed it would be slow like the Silverado SS. We can beat those right?

Re: I knew better, but did it anyway!

We can beat the SS with no tuning done to it...but if they touched that computer....its game over.

Re: I knew better, but did it anyway!

a stock TBSS will run a low 14 sec. 1/4 mile, so we all new what the outcome would be, BUT that means that RB's Titan or tomnymods truck would beat a stock one, so a modded titan with spray can beat one!!

my coach had a stock SS when mine was stock. i could beat him by about a truck length up to 100. never tried it from a roll, but knowing my truck, from about a 20-25mph roll it would have been closer to 1 1/2 to 2 lengths by 100.
