Raced a Lexus SC400

Was at a stoplight and a black Lexus SC400 coupe with duall exhaust pulls up next to me. Looked to be a 1995 or 1996 model. I didn't even think about racing him as I was just cruising home with my wife and 2 kids in the truck. Light goes green and I just roll on the throttle since were on an uphill around 13% grade, and I'm trying to take it easy on my truck untill I get the DTT I got sitting in my closet slapped in. The guy in the Lexus launches a little hard but stays right on the side of me. As my truck gets rolling I give it more gas so I can hear my Banks rumble, and the guy matches me. I'm thinking to myself "he wants to test the Titan". So I give it a little more gas, maybe half throttle, and the guy in the Lexus guns it and jumps on me. I hesitate for a moment, then go WOT. By the time I go WOT, he has about a car and a half on me. To my suprise I'm reeling him in. My truck shifts and I start reeling him in faster. I close in on him and my drivers door is right behind his passenger door and I got allot of gear left. The instant I get even with him I notice the turn in the road comming up. Doesn't take me a millisecond to think to myself that it's not worth it, especially with my family in the truck. I let off and the guy just keeps going. Oh well, I'm not go risk the safety of my family. I probably let off at around 55, which is the speed limit here so I don't think it was too dangerous. I think that with my mods I would take him pretty easy from a dig up to 60 from the way I reeled him in. Definitly would like to race one on a flat road by myself, but not untill I get my DTT slapped in. Just waiting for the axle seals to come in from the dealership.

Re: Raced a Lexus SC400

The SC400 is a nice car. I don't think the Titan is a match for it.

Re: Raced a Lexus SC400

It was a 1995-96 gen SC400. I think a stock Titan might be able to hang with um up to the 1/4. The 95 SC400 does 0-60 in 7 secs and 1/4 mile in 15.3. I'm not stock though so that might explain why I reeled him in pretty quick. I could take one in the 1/4 mile, but they have a 150mph top speed so.

Re: Raced a Lexus SC400

No worries, they are nice cars. The newer versions are probably allot faster but the 94-96 4.0L V-8's are 15.3 second cars. I thought they would be faster than that with 250-260HP and 260-270lbs.ft. Torque.
