New G-tech times

Missed the Memorial Day drag races last week, so I took my SRT-10 to do some G-tech runs this morning. Weather was 75 degrees and humid, not so good temps, but not so bad either.

Truck is bone stock, 3/4 tank gas, full street trim with even around 70lbs of stuff in the back seat.

Best run was:
60' 2.202
0-60mph 5.300
330' 5.908
1/8mile 8.951@81.75mph
1000' 11.588
1/4mile 13.80@102.34mph

This is only the second time I went G-teching in my truck so I really gotta practice my launches. 2.20 is a slow 60' for these trucks, all the QC guys who know how to launch thier trucks good pull 1.9 60' all day. If I can bring down my 60ft marks it should put me around 13.5's, so I got some work to do, but the truck definitly has more in it.

Re: New G-tech times

G-tech and be very strange sometimes.

I always run 14.8's on the street with G-tech. And 14.6-14.4 at the track.

The road.....bumps.....everything affects it pretty good....every movement causes an alteration in G's.

13.5 in a Quad Cab.....are you stock.....or modded. Because I don't think I've seen a Stock SRT 10 QC run that fast at the track.

Re: New G-tech times

Before I had my FlashPaq I had a GTech Pro SS unit.
Before I sold the GTech I did some FlashPaq Data
Acquisition vs. GTech comparison testing. For
the 1/8th mile both units were very close. I think
it was like .03 seconds. For 0-60 times the GTech
had me running .10-.13 seconds faster than SCDAQ.
The 1/4 mile had the Gtech at .10 seconds faster.

Re: New G-tech times

Yeah I've read alot of debate on the Hemi sites about the times listed by the Flashpac. Some like it...some hate it. Seems most of the time it shows a bit fast.

Re: New G-tech times

My flash paq always showed my times real slow. I ran a 15.0 in my hemi with a 60' of 2.34 at the track and on my flash paq my best 60' was 2.46 and my best quarte rmile was a 15.4 or 15.5.

I am at 2200ft so that can speak for my slow times to begin with but the superchips just showed me quite slow.

Re: New G-tech times

On Hemi Truck Club I have seen people with Stock trucks with only the Flash Pac claiming low 14's....and the sites own members....telling them...nope...sorry....not a Quad Cab with them mods!

But really...all will work a little different!!! HOwever...reading the computer...seems they woudl all read the same!

And in really...G-tech...or Flashpac should read a little slower then the track. You will get better traction at the track...no doubt.

My truck is bone stock. Theres guys who have done 13.5's in thier bone stock QC SRT-10's, they all hit 1.9 60ft marks or better though. If I can bring my 60' marks down from 2.2 to 1.9 it should shave some time off my top end and get me around 13.5's. I still don't know how to launch my truck properly, the truck has allot more in it.

The G-Tech is accurate with in 1/100th of a second. The trick is finding a truely flat grade road to run on. I think that might play a big part in some guys G-Tech times being really off of thier track times. When I used to run G-Tech with my Titan I took it to the track and it was only .01 off of my timeslip.

Their are many factors that go into accurate DAQ
results. Some guys make the mistake of messing
around with tire size adjustment. I left mine set
at factory default for the tires that came on my
truck. People might think a road is level but it
does not take much grade to be .1-.2 seconds
off. From running in both directions I have determined
that the road where I test is pretty level.

Yes, it's going to be very hard for a QC with only
a FlashPaq to get into the lower 14's. The guy
probabaly messed with the tire height (speedo) mode
which will give faster results. Or he did not conduct
his test on a level road.

Mine are always .2 off from the track. I get wheel spin on the street...and a properly prep'd track I do not get wheel spin.

You want to launch an SRT-10.....and get the best time....Drag Radials are the only way to go.

Re: New G-tech times

I do agree that low 14's is fast for a quad cab superchips alone but there is a guy on a few forums that ran a 13.01 with just superchips, dr's, short belt, intake and headers. There is a vid floating around somewhere of it and it is pretty damn impressive.
