Track results, did the Titan proud.

Went to the strip tonight and ran poor times 15.80's mostly. It was hot, 90's, and humid with an adjusted altitude of 3200 ft according to my friend and his hand held weather station / altimeter. For the haters out there, I previously ran a 15.53 in similar weather without my posi installed so don't start saying KC Titans run 15.8's in the 1/4 mile, they don't. These times were tromp and go with snow tires on it because I was bracket racing and based on the track champions advise I just nailed it and went for consistencies sake, rather than rolling into the throttle for a fast time. My times were not the story though, the victory was over some jerks making fun of my truck. As I cruised around during pre-race looking for people I knew, I happened to turn my head and see a guy pointing right at me and laughing with his two friends. They were up at the motorcycle pits and had a couple of so-so drag bikes they were hovering around. Just when I looked in the opposite direction I saw one of my friends with his first class drag bike parked across from them. ordinarily I might have just waved but I chose to back in right next to them and walk across the pit to chat with my friend that came out to meet me. We talked, and I sat on his nice bike for a minute said good luck and went back to my truck. I couldn't have timed it better because the track owner, another friend of mine, was coming by at the same time. I stopped him and we spoke a bit about track conditions, and shot the bull a bit just long enough to show those Nissan hating jerks that I was no stranger to the track. Just to top it off, I went up and down the bike staging lanes chatting with most of the guys around them. Finally I did a serious smoking hot burnout and fishtailed my baby to the line sideways to do the Titan proud. Yes I did in fact represent, both on the track and off and I didn't see them laughing at me and my Japassippi truck the next time I drove by.

Re: Track results, did the Titan proud.

Yeah, 20 years ago they might have had a face full of me but I try not to get in direct confrontations these days as everyone wants to pull a gat and cap you. Whatever happened to a good old fist fight with the occasional knife thrown in? lol. Rap music is destroying traditional hand to hand combat, lol.

Shift_Japassippi! Only real jerks go around laughing at somebody else's ride like that. Some are less impressive than others, but it is something to somebody! Well done.

Yeah, it would have been nice to race them but I don't think I would have done very well even against a sub par drag bike, lol.

I have laughed at another persons ride before but not for the same reason. I was photographing a Fun Ford Weekend at Orlando Speedword and much to my surprise, Jerry Glanville (NFL coach) was participating. once I spotted him I thought to myself he must have brought a killer car with all the money he has. I followed him to a trailer and much to my surprise there was a 1976 or so turd brown Torrino (Starsky and Hutch car) sitting there. I looked all around for another car because I thought the Torrino must be the chase car and figured they must be off weighing the real race car. The next time I saw Jerry, he was racing the turd as we called it so I knew that WAS his car. I am guilty of laughing at Jerry Glanvilles turd so maybe I did deserve the guys laughing at me, lol.
