Dodge 5.7 Hemi
Last night in town, there were 2 guys from Alabama with a 4 door Ram (with the 5.7), and they thought it was BAD. I started to talk to them and said I was sure that my Titan would easily take them mainly off the fact that every test in magazines shows like a 1.5 sec difference in 0-60, but they didnt think so. He even once said "It's only got a 5.6"; I guess he didn't realize that 100cc is a tiny difference, and a DOHC design is far superior to a pushrod with a hemispherical head. Well we decided to race across the bridge from a rolling 5mph start, and it was not even close. I had 3-4 lengths instantly and kept pulling. After that, we raced back across from a stoplight (stand still), and it was even worse. Need less to say, he was shocked that a 4wd Titan just beat his 2wd almighty Hemi.

The new ram? 2009 is the big debut for all the new dodge stuff. There should be a 1500 diesel and rumors floating around everywhere that the 5.7 liter hemi will be replaced for a larger hemi either being a new 5.9 liter or they will start sticking the 425 hp 6.1 liter hemi in the dodges.

I had a 4X4 Quad cab Hemi as a loner car when I had my power steps installed. I couldn't wait to get my Titan back. That Hemi didn't even start to wake up until about 30 mph!

I had some fun with one of these today on the way home from work. It belongs to a buddy of mine. Ram 1500 Mega Cab. It wasn't even close with the extra weight he's hauling around. I wonder how I'd fare against a short box regular cab.

what mods are yall using to beat them Hemis? I have one right now Im trying to beat at a dragstrip, guy is fast, but, its storys like these that have me thinking I just need the right combo of mods?
Dawgs77, thinks there is NO WAY I am going to beat this guy? I say bullpucky, c'mon, help me out guys. I'm willing to spend some money, but, I DO NOT own a MINT! Lol i have been doing TONS of research! that isn't really what I want, I want the street/track proven mods, bolt on and kick some a--! |
