titan vs. chevelle

My friend and his dad rebuilt an old chevelle not sure what year but its got a 356 in it with. but its sweet. the other night i saw him coming up behind me with his windows down blarin his cRAP music. starts revin it up. so i rev the 40 series back. he yells he wants a race and im like alright. we pull up to the light and it turns green. we both left bout the same time but i was out a couple car lenghts in no time. he said i got a better jump and wanted to go again so we did and the same thing happend. i smoooked him 4 times in a row. it was sweet. i never thought my titan would beat a chevelle. especially by that far

Re: titan vs. chevelle

Hate to say it, but that doesn't sound like much of a chevelle.

Re: titan vs. chevelle

Maybe it was a Chevelle with a 396?
Hate to say it but there isn't a Titan in the world that could have beat my Chevelle. Be carefull there Speed Racer cause Racer X is gonna eat your lunch if you run across a halfway decent Chevelle again! If you still can't resist, look for the one's with the 307's on the fender you may be better off.
In the mean time go slap the crap out of the guys you just whooped on and tell him to get his car running right!!!

That awesome! I bet you burned less gas than he did in those 4 races combined.

Re: titan vs. chevelle

Well, if the Chevelle only has a 350 with low compression and highway gears then it is very believable. A typical Chevelle with a smallblock weighs 3600# without driver, so around 3800# with driver and then it depends on what kind of 350 he built.
A mild combo with highway gears would only run 15's. I built a 400 for a friend's Chevelle that ran 12.83 but he had 3.43 gears, 3500 converter, and headers. He went to more of a stock converter and it ran 13.4.
