Just down from my house is a 4 lane hwy that turns into 2 lanes right after a red light. A square bodied (90ish?) Ford F150 was stopped in the left hand lane (the lane that continues), I pulled up next to him in the right lane that ends 500 ft or so past the intersection. The light turned green and I wasnt looking and the Ford took off, from what I could tell at full throttle. I jumped on the gas and started about half a car length behind. Before I even got into second, I was gaining on him and shortly after getting into second I was passed him. Idk if he let off after that because by the time I hit 60 I looked back and he was WAY back there. The speed limit on that road is 55 so I let off and went on my way. It just felt good to smoke a Ford!

Nice kill! I have to tell you though, I had a '95 F-150 with the 302. It was ok, not blistering, when it was new. But by the time I had 180,000 on it, that engine was tired. I had to drop 2 gears to go over the Blue Mountain and it wouldn't gain speed.... This truck now goes over that mountain accelerating all the way to the limiter if I want to.... My Ford NEVER did that, even when new. It's kind of funny how guys like that, having probably not driven anything like this truck, will pound their chest and think their trucks are the fastest/best etc... What's that about ignorance being bliss?

Agreed. I owned a '93 F-150 many years ago. 302 5 speed, pretty gutless for a v8.
