Now thats funny....I see them and they dont even bother....one day I'm gonna get one in the mood and on camera.

But the 4+ gear ratios, 6spd, factory headers, VVT, dual stage intake all add up to speed/torque. THe titan will maintain the distance if untuned though vs the domestics that keep fallign back all except maybe the hemi.

The RCSB that runs at my track runs a best 12.65 on 130shot no tailgate no spare stock other wise.

I haven't seen a tundra dyno chart, but based on the factory stated horsepower # vs. its displacement compared to the titan's tells me that the tundra has better midrange to top end... thus my question on why after looking at the specs it looks like the tundra has a slightly better compression ratio also which I'm sure helps with the baseline torque throughout the power band

thanks ricqik...that's about what I expected, and I'm sure the torque graphs would show the same story, that the tundra motor maintains decent torque at mid-high rpm whereas the stock titan's drops off sharply, and the reason(s) for that were my initial question

what the hell is wrong with that 6.0 GM dyno graph? Looks like a poor Subaru STI with a GT37R turbo finally spooling up

As it turns out, the explanation boils down to an engine calibration strategy. GM calibrated the 367-hp 6.0-liter V8 to remain in stoichiometric "closed-loop" fuel delivery mode for 4 seconds after the throttle is floored. This fueling strategy helps keep emissions in check (and saves fuel) at the expense of reduced power — about 40 hp less at the peak.

Seems to me this is just a fancy way of saying "torque management to reduce stress on drivetrain parts." Thankfully there is software out there to tune it the way it "should" come from the factory. Now GM just needs to work on replacing the 4 speed auto with a more efficient 5 or 6 speed auto.

id love to dyno my tundra, kinda curious to what im putting to the wheel with the intake and exhaust. If i can find a place close by ill make sure to post it on here. what do dyno's run money wise anyways.

Actually, '09 gm will start having the 6spd in behind all their V8's and will be dropping the 4.10 rearend across the board for their 1/2ton, 3.73 will be the lowest you can go w/4.8, 5.3, 6.0.. The 6.2 will be a option ONLY in crewcab models and ONLY come with 3.42 rearend.
