War StoriesThis section is for discussion of any races you may have particpated in. If you smoked someone like a pack'o'cools, let us know. Likewise, if you got beat... let us know by what, so we can keep an eye out for it next time.
(I have a king cab, not a crew cab type-o in the title)
Titan 16.28 @ 88 (2.4 60')
Civic Si 16.23 @ 89
Every race he always nudged me by an itty-bitty bit at the very friggen end of the run. I ran 30psi in the rears, used tow mode, set trans in 3rd gear and did brake stands. I'd rip him out of the hole and stay ahead to the 660 mark or so, but then he'd run me down.
We were both 100% stock. I even had my spare still hangin in the back with only 800 miles on the odometer.
We ran at SIR in Tucson, AZ 2500', 80*@ night, no humidity.
With more experience with the truck to get a harder launch and a better broken in truck, I'm sure high 15's are very possible.
The 3.0 Ranger was a joke.
I showed my *** with him. I did a full brake stand leaning the truck fully over it seemed. I left in smoke and kept smoking the tires a 1/3 or so down the track. I ran an 18.5 or something and still had him beat by 4 lengths. Rubber is still stuck to the fender.
2500' is gonna be hard to get good times, you can look up the weather for that day and then calc the DA to adjust your time to see what you might run at a lower elevation. Both the Titan's and Si's times can be improved on allot, practice till you can get your 60ft. down to a 2.1, that would put you in the mid 15's. Just leave the truck in D, don't use tow mode, put your rear tires to 26psi, inflate your front tires to it's max rated psi, put your rear seats up, fold your mirrors in, gas at 1/4 tank.
I had an 02 ranger with a 3.0. It had chip, intake exhaust and the big last cat hallowed out. It was a joke. I ran it after i done all of it and it ran a blistering 17.2 in the 1/4. If i would of installed the whipple s/c kit for around $4k, it would of prob ran a high 14/low 15. I got beat by a dodge caravan. Bah. Very slow.
Props on beating the civic! I managed to run a turbo Civic hatch 2 weeks ago. Very fun!

Just here because i love trucks regardless of the brand.
Maybe if you put it in 4-high, it would be like getting an AWD launch? maybe? if so you would F'in fly

What would putting seats up change?

The theory behind that is the very slight weight distribution closer to the rear tires, things like this don't make a real difference on thier own, but when you add allot of them together they do.
