Killed a Corvette Z06

Just driving down the roadway deep in thought. I just recently lost my eldest son who tragically past away. Stopped at a traffic light and noticed a black Corvette approaching the light. I wait for the light to turn green. I hear the Vette rev and it was mean! The light turns green and I slowy pull away, but then I heard the Vette rev. I gave her half throttle to see if the Vette was game. The Vette takes the bait. I gave full throttle with the Vette close behind. I let off the throttle at the next light and the Vette zooms past me. I said to myself..."son, that was for you!" I slowly followed the Vette to the next light and pulled along side it. The operator rolled down his window and I yelled..."that's a bad Vette!" I then looked at the front fender and noticed the "Z06" badge. The operator smiled and said that I was pulling away from him. He added that he had 450hp under the hood. I told him I always wanted a Z06 and he gave me the thumbs up. The light turned green and we went on our way. I smiled to myself..wow, I took on a Z06! I rolled on the throttle of my 2005 Kawasaki Ninja ZX636 and rode home.....boy that would have been a nice kill if it was on my Titan.

thats cool but i have a hard time believing it. My friend had a kawi 636 and that thing was slow for a 636. He always lost races to the honda 600, yamaha r6, and gxxr 600's. he traded up to a R1 and said it was the best thing he ever did.

Anyway he ran mid 12's in the quarter with a dynojet optimizer, filter, and exhaust. From what i understand the corvettes run low 11's. Anyway if its true that awesome and congrats.

maybe it was a C5 Z06 which ran around 12.4 in the 1/4 unless it was an early year C5 Z06 (385 hp) which would be a little slower still around 12.7...

hahaha it took me a while to get it. at first i thought you were in your titan i was like ;lkasjdfl;kj holy crap! then i read the rest lol. but good kill. maybe it was a c5 cuz the new z06's have 505 stock. good kill anyways

Thank you for the condolences TT members. It is greatly appreciated.

I dont expect anyone to believe that I took on a Z06. I know how fast those cars are. I dont know if the driver was asleep or was over confident that he could fly by a speed bike. All I know is that when I heard him rev, I rolled to full throttle. Keep in mind this is not a 1/4 mile race....it was traffic light to traffic light. In the end, I crossed the line before he did. It was a C5 Vette. The badge only had "Z06" and not the "505hp".

My condolences to you and your family. Stay strong. I have teenagers too and witness a friend lose her son, it wasn't me in her shoe but damaged me quite a bit. Took a while for me to recover from it too, even though it wasn't my child.

My condolences on your loss. I have 4 children and can not imagine life without any one of them. What I find hard to believe is someone read this story and all they said was they were calling BS on the kill. IMO that is just wrong.
