Yay...somebody who can't read what is right in front of them. I'll go slow here for you. GT500 is a pony car. LS3 Corvette is a sports car. NOT the same class. Since when was a 3,900 lb 2-door coupe with backseats in the same class as a 3,200 lb 2-door, 2-seater sports car? When GM gets the Camaro on the streets and the Challengers start hitting the showroom floors then there will be something for the GT500's class. As for a GT500 with 650 hp not beating a Z06...well duh. Around a 1,000 lbs in favor of the Z06. Given the Z06's better tires better suspension it really should be much of a surprise to anyone.

i don't give a ****. what i am trying to tell your stupid *** is why would anybody spend 130k on a ford gt to get beat by a Z06 at half the price? in order for Ford to build something in the Z06 class they had to charge twice as much for it, gave it more hp and its STILL slower.

why would somebody go out and buy a GT500 for 45k and get beat by corvettes all day long? the GT500 would probably get beat by even the 03-04 cobras with 110 hp LESS.

my entire point was that EVERYTHING ford builds with the current blown 5.4 gets outrun by vehicles with similar or even less hp...it just shows the inefficiency of the ford drivetrain.

the new challengers are already on the streets and have been tested. they will keep up with the GT500 even with a 75 hp disadvantage...hence, my point about the inefficiencies with Ford.

I am a Z06 owner and had seen this video on another website. To be honest with you, my take on the video is about the same as most of the guys in this forum. I have a huge respect for both vehicles, I just happen to have the Z06. I have yet to come across a Ford GT while I was in my Corvette, though. I believe the two cars are very closely matched, and I'd put my money on the Ford GT stock for stock. While I have no problem with some guys going out and having fun in their cars like this (and yes, it IS an entertaining video), I don't think this is a good video for a "comparison" between the two cars.

So yeah...an equally modded FGT would reverse that outcome quite quickly. Unless you know more about that Z06 than it's owner of course...

Getting a little steamed huh? FGT's are better built, rare, and when you look at the averages are faster than the C6 Z06. I'm not going to deny the Z06 is the better bang-for-the-buck but the FGT was designed to compete with cars in the $200,000 category.

12.4 ?? LOL the fastest time i've seen from a reputable test on the GT500 is 12.7. and its 0-100 is about identical to most SRT-8s WITH the auto that you down talk...which is one of the better auto transmissions in any production car and its made by mercedes.

since you obviously don't know anything about the challenger, you can get it in a 6spd manual. hell, its even on their website. the 13.2 is not from the new challenger. try 13 flat to sub 13 with the 6spd. 13.2 is from the 300C SRT-8 or Charger SRT-8.

FGT better built? where is your proof? have you driven or ridden in both long enough to know that first hand? EXACTLY. another BS claim. also, it does a piss poor job of competing with "$200,000" rides considering it can't even compete with a $70,000 one.

FGT faster on average? hmm proof required. i am not going to let you BS your way around on here. if you make a claim that is blatantly out of the norm (like most of the time) then post some proof...otherwise, STFU.

Anything above that (Cobra, Mach, GT500 etc) CANNOT be put in the same class. A pony car is a vehicle that your EVERYDAY AVERAGE JOE can go buy at a moments notice. The cars I listed above take a little more cash to obtain.

Both cars I would say are pretty much tuned to the max when they come out. I hate both GM and Ford... GM even more so than ford becuase of the crap cars I have had from them.... but if you think an intake and a tune on an already tricked out car will make up for the *** kicking it recieved from the Z06... you are reta....... special.

Tuned to the max? How so when people are doing basic bolt-ons on both cars and making 75 - 100 more hp at the wheels? The OWNER of that Z06 says that wasn't even a good comparison and you are saying he's wrong? Whatever.

Anybody with half a grain of sense would understand quite well that all Mustangs are pony cars period. Cheap BASE models you are right (V6 Mustang, Camaro, Challenger...) but lots of options for bigger engines (GT, Cobra, SRT-8, Z28, SS). Keep this in mind, Dodge refers to the new Challengers as pony cars too...even the $40,000+ SRT-8 version.
