Ford Lightning Kill :)

I know he's faster than me on paper, but I raced him anyway.... with a bed FULL of OSB boards! I was taking my storm shutters back to storage the other day from our recent encounter with Hurricane Ike, and had about 1000lbs of wood on the back. He pulled up to a light next to me, and we hit it. I pulled away from him, and he wasn't just babying it. His exhaust was blaring as loud as mine. Either he sucked as a driver or his SC wasn't kicking in. Either way I dusted him with a load on the back, and it was funny. Only other kill since I got the Titan in July was a Lexus RX300 with some stupid chick that didn't want to let me turn into a lane. She kept speeding up trying to block me, and we both floored it and I made room to get over. Pretty funny seeing the look on her face thinking she was hot stuff until she got owned by superior HP.

Nice, a kill is a kill. I'm wondering what year Lightning it was, though. Not all of them had blowers, specifically the early years. '93-'95 only had a 240HP 5.8L, '99-'04 had 360-380HP 5.4L and did a documented 0-60 in 5.2 seconds.

It was definitely a later year model F150 short cab SVT. Probaby a 2000+ model. As for the reckless comment, we got up to a screaming 40mph and let off. My grandma would have smoked this guy. No need to lecture, dad.

that would make more sense than anything. aint no way a stock titan can beat a supercharged lightning, even with an empty bed.

yeah there is no way a titan, even unloaded could beat a newer lightning. they run low 14's at around 100mph in the 1/4 stock and that's with a bad driver! MMFF's project lightning rana 13.7@102 STOCK when they ran it and i honestly don't think there is a stock lightning on this planet either so most you run across are 12 second trucks. if it were a real lightning you would have heard this real loud whine from the blower right before he walked away from you like you were hitting the brakes. and the supercharger can not, not "kick in", it's run off the serpentine belt!

This is in no way a cheap shot at the guys Titan, but with only volant cai and jba catback for mods a Titan isn't going to stand a chance against even a stock L, let alone if the Titan has 1000lbs in the bed. I mean c-mon, were talking about a 15 second truck against a mid 13 second stock L that does 0-60 in just over 5 seconds. Unless the L has some MAJOR traction issues your not going to dust any L with just those mods. Something does not add up, heres some specs on the L.

Even if it was a V6 with badges he found out that badges don't make it fast, and with the wood in the back, it was pretty much an exclamation point.

Sorry man, I gotta agree with the others. Having driven one that runs low 12's, you'd hear it whining from the word go.

You know, they made a regular cab F-150 that looks a lot like the Lightning- and it's easy tos wap out the rear tails- Maybe that's what it was...(?)

Either way, sounds like you represented well!

A buddy of mind just bought an F150 with the "Rouche Package" that make is look like it's faster than it is. Really it's just a bunch of decals and there's nothing under the hood that's different than a stock truck.
