The GTO is pretty quick but for most of the public its not a 13 second car. Most people cant launch them, especially on the street. I watched 2 of my friends humiliate thierselves at the track (they claimed to be good drivers). One had a 2005 GTO 400hp 6.0l, and the other a 2005 CTS-V 400hp 5.7l. niether could get out of the 14;s all night. It was a little higher elevation but still.....
Tell him to leave the line on the 3rd honk, then cheat and leave on the 2nd

For most people it's not a 13 second car? If they got it to hook just once and feathered the throttle more, they'd be 13 seconds. it's not hard in that car...
Well Mr. GTO will be a little quit for the next few weeks, turns out he was out this past weekend and went up against a Ford pony (he did not say which model) at an intersection; from what he tells us, he was pulling away when he hit some black ice and lost control, ended up doing a 180 then sliding *** end into a street sign and down a small embankment. The damage to his car was not all that bad; a nice dent on the rear bumper, some scraped up paint and broken glass from where the sign hit the back window.
I ask for some photos but he refused….
i had an 04 gto and an 05. the 04 is an ls1. 05 is an ls2. all stock i went 13.76 at 101 mph in the 04, and once i got my cam, 3600 stall, longtubes, and drag radials i went 12.46 at 108. my 05 went 12.90 at 108 with just long tubes and a tune. my 04 put down 391 rwhp and 354 rwtq. the 05 put down 361 rwhp and 352 rwtq. the ls2 is DEFINITELY stronger in stock form.

I must admit I have always liked the GTO and was glad when Pontiac decided to reintroduce it too bad they could not make it work , a victim of a good concept and poor planning. As for my buddy he has been eating humble pie all week,
