Well, on my way home from work at 7 in the morning getting of the 5@ Newhall Ranch, I run across another TITAN silver with black rims and what looked like a sticker of cards on the back. My guess, he was an 07 CC XE w/ I/E for his mods. He also had a drop kit and 20'' rims, clean truck over all. Maybe he is on this site but anyways, we both noticed each other and we get to a red light. Light turns green and I didn't punch it, and wanted to test if he wanted to race....but yeah, he opened it up from the dig and got a half truck on me. lol It stayed like that until 70 mph where his mod's start kicking in and my 4x4 weight starts slowing me down. We saw two biker cops lazing west bound so we slowed down quick. lol Good race overall, gave the guy a thumbs on the way out.

In all honesty....my race days with a truck are over. I'm really debating whether to even put an exhaust on my truck....and it would be Stillen exhaust because you can't even hear them. lol I was just surprised my stock 04 kept up with him....

Can't win them all but look the bright side, 0-70mph you did good considering you are 4x4. When I'm not sure if the other guy is going to go from a light, I try to launch from the light like I would at the track, and if the other guy doesn't take off, i just left off....
I hear what you saying about racing/modding the truck. I'm at a point right now that mods are going to start getting expensive....and I'm debating on wether I'm going to spend money modding my truck, or spend the money on a street/strip type car.
I'd say get the exhaust. Nothing better than being able to walkout to a nice truck that you can see and hear!
Nice run too!
True....I will probably get a custom exhaust made, they are cheaper that way. Maybe a Stillen muffler will be nice, but all I know is that you can feel the low end torque on a stock system compared to an aftermarket system that is tuned for a mid rpm range. I just love the quite cruise on a 5 hour road trip...something I was missing from my old truck. lol

Don't get a custom one made. I repeat, DON'T GET A CUSTOM ONE MADE! Trust me, lol. I would just pick up a JBA exhaust, and if you want it quieter, get a MF swap.
We win some, we lose some. Those 22's don't help either, lol.
What I would do to make your truck faster, is the get the exhaust, 2* advance, or possibly even a hand held tuner. Do it man!

Good try anyway Brace. You did good consistering that your a 4x4. Do they make a Corsa Sport for your T' ? I know they are pricy ($600) for the catback, but they are well worth it. Plus they sound like a nascar at WOT, but quite at idle. I know when I had mine installed, I could really feel the difference on the low end. The track proved it for me too. I got 12-15 extra ponies from it, 2 tenths and 3 mph faster. The TQ feels much stronger down low. When ever I put my flowmaster with the cutout on, it slows me down. Just thinking out loud for ya.

.....lol thanks for the input warp....but I did have a loud TITAN before and trust me, I don't really want to revert back to it. I guess I got old and now I have a loud car for going fast, and a slow truck thats great for cruising.
Plus the custom exhaust I put on my last truck made close to 300rwhp. Intake/exhaust/timing advance. That was it. People with Banks systems, JBA, or Stillen systems couldn't crawl past 270 rwhp on the Stillen dyno. Heres a vid. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/S...SAN_113541.htm

Man....you still around?!?! lol Its good to see you. I'm on and off on the forums, but I still stick around. How is the truck running? How many tires you go through already since the Cam install?

^^Probably, my Titan was a XE CC 4x4 and weighed in at 5480 with me (275) in it. It ran a 15.2@89 in 4HI though, good 2.1 60ft. for a Titan. Gotta use that 4x4 to your advantage somehow, cause you will pay for it on the top end.
Welcome back brace, your done racing? Nah I just think you're taking a break, I remember you were by far the most active street racer on here for a little while. You thinkin about going cold turkey?

No, I just got a bucket to go fast in now and alot of the newer guys on the forums don't know that I probably the most active racer before the VK56 club was around. I think I went cold turkey though. lol
