Dodge dakota 5.9 older model vs ME!!!!

Pull up to the light with my wife and my brother in law and he has two older kids with him and he looks over at me and says MOPAR!!!! He had flowmaster stickers in the window and aem sticker. Light turns green and I left him by two lengths once we hit 45 or so I backed off cause we were in the city. At 45 I still only had him by about 3 lenghts. He drives by me and again yells MOPAR. I laughed my *** off. My wife says shouldnt you be yelling mopar if you win? Good race though

Those 5.9 Magnum motors are a joke. I had a '99 Durango SLT Plus and I loved it except for the engine and drivetrain. That has to be the worst engine and drivetrain that anyone has ever put into a truck.

^^ they had 250 horsepower.

they have a huge aftermarket though, so technically they're not too bad...

A coworker of mine has a '97 Dakota with the 5.2 V8 with a cat back and a throttle body spacer. He was ahead of me one day and took off, I was in my 2008 Frontier with the 4.0 and started gaining on him. We talked later, he was WOT as was I. By the way, my Frontier was dead stock, didn't even own my Superchips tuner yet.

Actually, technically, they're a total POS!!! ... no matter how you cut it. 250hp being pulled behind a Tow Truck maybe.

and i also think they're a piece of ****, mostly because dodge made them, and 250 hp out of a 5.9 is sad.

First off, good kill Deerslayer! The wife's comment is classic man lol.

Secondly I wouldn't necessarily call the 5.9 Dakota's POS, albeit they are slow from the factory and even mildly modded, but once they tear into that motor it puts out some good power. There's a bunch of them in the 11's and 10's. One runs a 10.6@125mph with a stock bore 5.9 and some spray and is street driven, one runs 10.7@128 at 3400+ feet DA with a turboed 5.9 as per dragtimes. That's pretty damn impressive.
