I like to make tailgaters even madder by slowly easing of the gas and make them cuss and gripe until they can zoom around me. Tickles me to death every time. One guy that flew around me went through a
That is my tactic right there^^^^ Ill just go 10 under the speed limit. I usually drive 5 over, so there is no reason for anyone to ride my *** as I'm already speeding. So I just even slower. I have had a guy fly past me right into a speeding trap too...It made my day. I want to install some of those lights that people mount under their rear bumper and point behind them..Bright A** lights, so when they tailgate me, I'll turn em on so they havre to back off. I wonder how big of a ticket I would get for that though. LOL. But I do see people with the lights mounted down there all the time, I wonder if they use it for the same reason
I live in a small town that has a 25mph speed limit on the main road. This old guy in a suburban tailed me all the way through town then when the road turned to two lanes, he passes me on the right and cuts in front of me right at the red light causing me to hit my brakes.
The speed limit at that point changes to 55mph so of course I got to the right lane and gassed it. He also gassed it but I SMOKED him to 55mph. He waves his arms in the air like "what is your problem?" What a moron!! I hate tailgaters too dude!!!

The ticket probably isn't worth it. Cops lose their sense of humor when it comes to vehicular safety. But getting the goat of a tailgater by going slower is indulgently fun. I drive a bit over the limit depending on the road and traffic, so there is no reason to ride my azz like a pony. I can't help it if traffic isn't going as fast as it should. Don't get angry at me because I'm the first one you're behind.

Ive thought about the same thing, but then I thought about if I really wanted those ugly a$$ lights poking out from my rear bumper lol

Naw, I love chevy's. That douche rocket just pissed me off. Sorry.
I saw the title and wondered why you were catagorizing a whole group of people based on the type of vehicle they drive but, saw this thread and now I feel better It's incredible how many idiots are on the roads these days! I do my best to be patient ever since I read a story about a man that was driving erratically and riding a guys bumper. The guy got mad and slammed his brakes causing the other guy to rear-end him. The guy jumps out and starts yelling at the other driver for hitting him. The other guy in his sixties was crying as he got out of his car, the first driver still yelling asked him why he was driving like an idiot. The other guy told him he just came from the hospital where his wife just died from cancer. The first driver wasn't expecting this and his anger disappeared immediately. I know this doesn't excuse bad driving but, it does make me think twice when someone's driving like an idiot.

I forgot to mention that we merged onto the 10 when the 135 happened.

well im just going to say, you were not right, and he was not right, you both were in the wrong and could have hurt somebody...but i wish you could have gotten a picture of the look on his face as you went from 90 to 90+ and he was stuck at 105. nice kill just slow down next time in traffic and let him do is ricer birdie flyby and smoke him at the next light.
It wasn't as bad as it seems, we merged onto I 10 when we got crazy. There was alot of space, until I hit traffic, then I see him finally role up to take an exit. 5min later.
Yes, I was Wrong, so was he. Thanks for not really preaching.

Tailgaters suck.......I am with 0-FiveCC om this. I drop my speed slower and let them simmer to a boil..... PLENTY of times I have seen some good stuff because of this. One guy passes me in a curve and of course here comes another car. He takes the field to the left and the other car brakes abruptly and switches on his lights....STATE TROOPER!!!!! That is my favorite story to tell everyone when they come up with a tailgater story. Another nimrod on his newly purchased Honda 600 was toying with me ( I am in the Lightning). He goes to pass and I hammer it!!!! Stopped pulling me and had to duck back behind me and damn near lost control. Few miles ahead I let him go and what do I see a few 100 yards after that....................................Nimrod was in someone's yard off roading!!!! Took the curve to hard!!!! I gave him a honk and a smile for him entertaining me. That dude had to feel like a douche!!!!

Although that is kinda hipocritical because I do tailgate stupid people going slow in the left lane. But I tailgate at a fairly safe distance depending on the speed and just enough to let them know they're an @ss and need to get outta the way.
But there is nothin worse than some dik recklessly weavin through traffic tailgating everyone like he/she is the most important gdam human being on the planet. Sorry for ranting but that really gets my blood to a boil when I first wake up in the morning and am trying to have a peaceful relaxed drive to school/work.

Keeping a safe distance, yet letting someone know they need to move is a lot different than someone who is so close to your rear that it looks like you're towing him on your ball hitch.

I rarely tailgate anyone. There is the occasion that I will get semi-close if they are going stupidly slow, but I had my head go through a windshield in my buddies car when he rear-ended a truck. I now have a nice size scar on my forehead from it. Kind of keeps me a little scared to get too close to anyone. Of course, I did get 10K in insurance money, but I was early 20's, so I blew that in 2 weeks, stupid stupid
Well, I've been a victim of a line of traffic stopping suddenly and being the only one who's brakes locked up. Didn't total the vehicle, but it did get mashed pretty badly. And I wasn't following that close. Now, being in a bigger truck, I keep even farther back from leading cars. Of course, that still got me a '83 Mercedes crumpled under my rear bumper and hitch just over a year ago. Though his was a total wreck, where I got away with a bent under bumper, a slight crumple of rear fender, and a tiny scratch on the hitch itself. The tailgate was never touched, but his paint chips were all over it. Creme colored flakes littered the tailgate and road along with all his lamp glass and plastic grill pieces. It was lightly raining, and his brakes locked up on him....then BANG! Nice guy, profusely apologized. I was glad he wasn't hurt, because his car surely was. I kinda felt bad for him. It was a clean convertible.
