I'm driving along a 1 lane road, and I see/hear this black Hemi ram in front of me driving all crazy. His exhaust rumbling. Well we get to a double right hand turn lane. We both had a car in front of us. We all turned right onto a 3 lane, I hear an exhaust and immediately step on it and I took the only empty lane. I look in my rearview and the Hemi is way back there. What do I see though? There is what looks to me to be a Roush Stang behind me. I'm going 5 over the speed limit and sure enough he gets up next to me and passes me. Well we catch a light. Usually these type of bad boys don't mess with our truck,but I wasn't playing since I needed everything plus some for this car. I notice it is "only" a GT mustang with body kit, black racing strips and the big low Roush style spoiler and nice sporty rims. Well I give it about 1/2 off the line just to be safe thinking he wouldn't runme. Then I hear his exhaust, so I step on it. It sounded loud and raspy, I thought I heard a SC but wasn't sure. I was ahead by about 1/2 length when we got on it at about 5-10 mph (he hit it first). He pulled up next tomy window by 30-40. Then he pulled to about 1/2 to 1 length ahead at about 60 mph, then he stopped pulling hard at about 65-70, and we shut it down at around 80 or so. Ipulled next time and he gave me a smile and a wave, I pointed at him and told him nice car. Seemed to be an easy 12 second car by how he caught up and passed me in my power zone (0-60). I don't know where the loud fast driving Hemi was LOL

I was a little scared there for a second reading that. I thought you lost to a hemi. Glad to hear the guy in the mustang was a good sport.

I do like the look of the Roush 'Stangs.... Only one that looks like it should, IMO... Cool story!

LOL, I was just kidding, no one responded over night. I was thinking I would get some "Haha's" or "nice suicide" LOL.

I've been thinking, if it had had a SC I probably would know for sure. I thought I heard something, but if it had been a SC I would have probably KNOWN it. It was quick. I know with my old 18's on I would be right there with a stock GT (04+), this guy def had something. It looked nice, and he had the mods to back it. Probably intake, exhaust, tuner and maybe headers (maybe not). I've been itching to race a stock GT for a while, that just wasn't a stock one

a guy here at work has a 08' with at least exhaust (don't know what else) and it is a stick. we (I

) took off from a red light and yea, there was no race going on there

he absolutely KILLED me and I really don't think he was even trying lol!!!!

Yeah they run high 13's stock (occasionally faster, and slower with worse drivers). I know it would have been a good race with a stock one for me when I had my 18's, now with the 20's, I would probably get beat by a stock GT, but not at the track LOL

yep I saw you put what looks to be LE rims- they look good man!!! Those suckers are heavy if they are LE rims, when I spin mine in the rain, they will keep spinning for a few revolutions after I let off lol!!!

nice man. Not as bad as when I got killed by an 02 mustang gt. I knew who owns it and we were at a light. I just kind of reved, he looked over at me and shook his head. Then we both left and I got left behind lol. I knew the car was fast but not as fast as it was... I talked to him later and it is set up to run 12.0 at the track but can go faster. It's only custom tuned with a kenne bell supercharger

Yep, LE 20's. I got 2 aluminum 16's with slicks and going to run the factory 17's in front this Winter...I'm going to go to the track and see just how much these 20's are hurtin me. I'm guessing mid 14's in Summer

you are at 13.8 in the quarter if he only was up 1/2 car to a car by 60 or so i would say by the quarter he would run around 13.2-13.4. i have a dodge charger daytona with 325rwhp and i am running around 13.5

Well, I ran that time on OEM 18's, I now have OEM 20's. There are a couple factors, he started about a 1/2 length back, but he also got on it before I did, when I heard him get on it is when I floored it. You may be right though. I got beat by a GTO running 13.2 at the track, I stayed with him till the 1/8th, then he walked past me. He pulled PROBABLY about 2 lengths on me till 80 including the 1/2 length he had to make up (plus I'm probably a low 14 second truck now). But since he got on it first, lets say 1 1/2 lengths (1 length if I was on 18's), your right, that sounds more like a mid 13 second car. LOL, I like to analyze these things, I don't know why haha

Sorry about the loss man, but at leats it was to a fast car. I was scared too for a minute because I thought you had lost to a hemi! HAHA it might have just been bolt on's, gears, suspension and a good tune. I have heard the new GT's can get retarded power froma good tune and bolt on's, not like the older cars. My friend had a '99 GT and threw tons of boltons on that POS and gained liek 3 tenths and 2 mph! I would have scrapped that POS because with a bunch of bolt on's he was STILL getting slaughtered by STOCK LS-1's! What a turd. I'm glad ford has kinda gotten the point. They are still slow compared to the new competition and ford needs to grow a pair and put some real cubes under the hood and stop wasting their time with a microscopic V8 when the competition is all running 5.7 liters and bigger! Hell most V6's have almost the same cubes as fords v8 nowdays!

new mustang gt's are easy mid 13 second cars. High 13's would be something a scrub would run.

If you got next to someone that ran as much as you, it would be low 13's.

With just tune and bolt-ons high 12's EASY.

If it was supercharged he would've passed you while roasting tires
