Another diesel down

I don't go looking for fights but this a$shole pushed my buttons.

Yesterday morning headed up 441 to the 429 Raceway (uncrowded toll road) this Brand new F250 pulled out in front of me and was dragging his feet. So as creeped up behind him he was watching me and then he stomped it and dumped black smoke all over my truck. I didn't bother with him because the light ahead was red and traffic was in front of us. We both got in the right lane to get on the 429 since the left lane is close due to const. Light turns green and traffic starts to move, we have maybe 5-6 cars in front of us. This azzhat would slow down and then stomp pouring more black smoke all over my truck. Left lane opens and jumps over and stabs it, I follow and damn near run him over. he decided to brake check me, doesn't scare I just smile. So we cruise for little bit and traffic thins out and slows to 60mph in the lane dragging his feet again. He stabs it few times egging me on pouring more black smoke all over my truck. So I slip into the right lane he stabs I stab it and no black smoke poured on my truck this time because I walked right past him. By 85mph I was past him and I thought maybe he gave up so I started to slow down and he tried to blow past me again. Oh no I stopped his advance and once again owned him. he decided he had enough and stayed way back behind me. I set cruise at 70 for the next 8-10 miles and he stayed way back. Ended up getting off at the same exit and pulled up behind me. He showed his respect by staying way back at the light.
I have no clue if he was modded but he had no stickers in the window or near front emblem, he did have a big fat after market exhaust pipe hanging out the back. Normally I would not call this behavior a$$holey because he wanted to race or what ever but the a$$hole didn't have to brake check me when he was doing all the egging on.

Re: Another diesel down

I hate when a$$holes want to run, then when they realize they can't leave you and you're right there with them they brake check you. That's the stupidest most childish crap somebody can pull. They're the ones that started it and then when they realize that their POS isn't the fastest thing on the road they try to cause an accident. I would have passed him and brake checked the holy crap out of him myself, you know, return the favor. Good kill though.

Re: Another diesel down

Damn, that guy was a real c*ntface, good job smashing his ego! He woulda probably lied to himself that his truck was faster if you let him pull the ricer flyby but by not letting that happen theres no excuses he can use now rofl. Awsome!

Of course most know the diesel can be quick with few mods, but something not allot of people know is that the Titan with basic mods can still hang with a chipped diesel up to a certain power level.

IMO if your Titan is running high 14's - low 15's you should be able to run right there with a diesel with a 140HP chip, it would be a damn good race, depending on the weight of the diesel. If the diesel has anything over that than you gotta be more modded to really hold your own.

It does sound like this diesel you raced was chipped with the amount of smoke your describing. Good job man!.

Re: Another diesel down

HT I am bone stock performance wise except for a drop in K&N filter. But I have raced my Dad and he has a '07 2wd with tow gears and I am faster. Dad isn't no slouch, he was drag racer back in the day. Both KC too.

Re: Another diesel down

If it was a brand new f-250 like you said it had to be modded out to dump enough smoke to get pissed about. I hate it when diesels do that to me.. Ive got an 04 with a hypertech, nismo w/no cats and a k&n intake with 2.94 gears and 37s and i still waste some of those diesels! the ford probably had a DPF delete and an exhaust after that and probably and sct chip or an edge chip to compensate for having no DPF.. most of my friends have diesels.. I hear it too much lol. But they always call me when they get their trucks stuck! lol

A diesel with those mods would have blown most titans out of the water. That what doesnt make sense about the story. If its a newer diesel blowing smoke it means is programmed and has a dpf delete like you said. Which will smoke most titans.

I dunno bro, I can see where your comming from and usually we aggree on allot of things, but I think it really depends on the amount he's pushing on the chip. Also in a roll race the diesel has a disadvantage with it's usually low trap speed in reguards to e.t. and not being able to brake boost. This race was from a 60ish roll sounds like, so that's really not where diesels with minor mods shine.

I was watching two previous gen Diesel F250 and F350 race a couple of months back at our dragstrip and they were both moded with exhaust and chip from what I could tell. They both made a bunch of passes and the best they could muster was mid 16's. They were making some good smoke, and watching thier beds look like they were gonna break in half from all the wheel hop from thier mud tires was interesting. I think with a better 60ft they might have been able to break into the 15's, but that's still pretty far off from what my Titan used to run at a 15.2@89 with just banks and volant. They both had lifts and aftermarket tires also so that slowed um down a bit, but it's almost scary to watch thier launch, it really looks like they are gonna break something in the driveline the way they hop and how the bed flexes.

I'm not sure how much faster the new twin turbo Fords are from the last gen, but in a roll race the diesels have a much harder time. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to bash on the diesels, I like them.

Re: Another diesel down

Yea you might be right I didnt thing about from a roll. But I know the newer diesels are in the mid 14's easily with a programmer. But the tune doesnt matter alot they do have tunes that do nothing but make smoke and actually hurt power, so maybe thats what he was running.
