2017 hvac driver vents 10 degrees warmer than passenger side

I have a 2017 Titan and the two driver vents are always 10 degrees or more hotter in both the summer and the winter. I currently have the drivers set at 62 and the passenger at 70 and the passenger air is still colder. The air output is the same and I have tried all all settings and even manual instead of auto.

Is there a calibration I can do or am I dealing with a bad sensor or head unit? I really don't want them taking my dash apart as I know they will scratch it.

Re: 2017 hvac driver vents 10 degrees warmer than passenger side

When I first got my truck three weeks ago, it felt like the inside air from the ducts was warmer than the outside air temp so I turned the temp all the way up and let it get hot then turned it all the way down and now itís been fine since. Could it be the blend door gets caught mid swing? I personally do not like dual temp systems, have had them on a bunch of vehicles and use them as a single temp setting always. Too small of an area to have warm and cold, youíre shoulder is two feet from the person next to you. This is why vehicle prices are insane.

Re: 2017 hvac driver vents 10 degrees warmer than passenger side

Mine is doing the exact same thing. I called my local dealership and they knew exactly what it was. He said it was some sort of temperature actuator that goes bad. Both sides are set to 60 and the passenger vents are blowing a lot colder than the driver side. Bringing it in on Saturday to get it fixed.

Great and thanks. Do you know if they have to remove the dash?

Mine is doing the same thing. You don't have to remove the dash to replace the actuator. Although, that part has been on backorder for a while. I was told today (06/22) was the first day they could order them (I'm in Texas). Hopefully comes in tomorrow or next week to replace.

Dropped my truck off on Saturday morning around 9 and they had it done within an hour..... The service manager said it is a known issue with the actuator on the drivers side. Working like a champ now. I'm also in Texas and it took about a week for the part to come in with the temp in the mid 90's.

I never compared between the two sides and just keep them set at 60.
I've had the problem where the ac just didn't seem like the compressor was kicking on. I hear the compressor and see the rpm jump when I kick it on. But ever time I bring it in it works fine.
I think this just might be my problem also.

Sorry for the late response. The part they switched out was 27732-3SB0A. it’s known as the actuator Assy-air mix. They also replaced the drivers air mix door motor. Not sure if that’s the same part but it worked!!!! Hope this helps.

Mine is doing the same thing. The passenger side is definitely cooler, and my wife is annoyed I run the a/c full blast because it's hot as hell out.

Re: 2017 hvac driver vents 10 degrees warmer than passenger side

I put my non contact infrared thermometer in my truck to check and get an accurate temperature from the ducts on both sides. I am getting readings from both sides that are basically even. The issue I have is when itís really hot out the air conditioner seems weak unless itís set to recirculated air, my Frontiers all got really cold very fast. Iíve also noticed with these trucks as soon as you turn the a/c on it goes right to recirculate where all my other nissans didnít or at a minimum stayed where I put it, this one every start up goes back to max a/c. In max the temp goes down to the lower 50ís and when out of the direct sun into mids 40ís or lower. On first start up when really hot it takes a bit until I feel cold air.
Is this how yours functions or am I having a problem that needs looking at?

Re: 2017 hvac driver vents 10 degrees warmer than passenger side

I would take it in Clint, mine is ice cold! I don't have the split system though. Also the Titan might take longer due to the size over the Fronty. One thing I do is put the windows down to help cool the cab while letting the AC get up to speed
