Guys - My check engine light just came on (solid not blinking) but the warnings screen says No Warnings. Below is a pic of it.

Any advice?? Happened on the way to work this morning, then was still on during the drive home.

As suggested above since the picture shows you’ve refueled recently it’s a possibility but wondering if these trucks will say to check the fuel cap specifically on its own like my Rogue does.
It may just be in the pending code mode and rechecking and will show up in another driving cycle or two. Did you top it off by rounding it up to the next dollar? I only will go to the next quarter as the evap system can trigger from doing it. I just keep quarters on hand to avoid issues.
OR, your truck is so advanced that’s its alerting you to the fact my Mrs. is arriving at Palm Beach International around noon and to stay out of the area, haha. Yay, I get the house and dogs to myself for a week.

What is this?! You’re not just going to recommend he take the truck to a dealership since it’s covered under warranty?! Guess you just pick and choose who to give advice to, right Clint? Lol

Thanks to Brew1, and Clint ... I checked my gas cap: First, I turned it tighter to see if it was loose. Did not seem to be. Seemed nice and tight. Nevertheless, I twisted it off and then back on, then closed the little door, and started the truck. Check engine light is now off. So that's

What's  is that 1) I don't feel like I actually did anything, so I'm not sure that was really the problem; is it super sensitive? 2) This is the first time it's happened in 5,300 miles, so why now? 3) Do I need to really crank that sucker tight? I guess I'll learn over time.

Oh I know: I'll unscrew it while the truck's running and watch for the dash light, and keep watching while I screw it back on. Hopefully the light is an instantaneous thing, and this test will work.

Thanks for the direction, guys ...

You might consider checking for a stored code.

My 2017 Titan did something very similar a month ago. The Check Engine light came on, and after about three town trips, went off.

I checked and found code P0157 (Bank 2 Sensor 2) O2 Sensor. Even though the Check Engine light was out, I took it to the dealer who confirmed a faulty O2 Sensor.

It won’t go on instantly as some people will fill up while truck is idling and it stays off, it needs to determine over a short period that there is a vacuum leak in the system, like it was said by others if it’s not turned to the click which is actually a measured torque, it’s not tight enough. My suggestion based on something I had happen in my last Frontier was the little plastic retaining strap got caught between the neck and the cap and even when fully tight still let air get sucked in.
I’m surprised your light went off immediately as it usually takes a driving period to reset but maybe the warning as opposed to a full blown code is more forgiving. Good to know all is good so far, hope it stays this way.

Check engine light is back on. I did fill up on Tuesday, light came on on Thursday during the day. When I stopped I removed the gas cap, which seemed tight again, then replaced it firmly ... but the light is still on. ~5,550 miles now.

I guess it's off to the dealership ... ?

Mine has 8k on it just took it in for the 3rd time for the check engine light. Im in montana. Its cold and there saying it needs an engine block heater which will cost $495.00. Any time its below 20 it needs to be plugged in. Total BS. My check engine light was a sensor for the top end saying its a lack of oil to the top end. They tried to blame it on me the first time because i changed my own oil. I used mobile 1 0-20 and a moblie one filter. So they put nissan factory stuff in. And guess what happened the next day light on again. Then they came at me with the block heater deal. **** that im not spending 500 on that. My silverado never had a problem with the cold. **** nissan. Never again. Oh and they said now that they have advised me on the block heater if something on the top end fails they will not warranty the repairs because they advised me on the issue.

Below 20 degrees and it has to have a block heater? That’s total and complete nonsense.

If the truck was produced without a block heater, it was designed to run without a block heater. If Nissan decides, after the fact, that a block heater is required (for below 20 degree weather) it’s incumbent upon Nissan to provide the mode...not you.

The dealer can’t make the call on the warranty...only Nissan can. A quick call to Nissan Corporate, explaining your situation, should resolve the issue.

Based on the information provided, it appears that the dealer is in over his head and/or doesn’t doesn’t want to diagnose the real problem.

Always first collect their name, employee ID number,(usually won’t give last name),date, time, subject and their specific job title. Far too often they make things up as they go along so if they know they are on record they will be more helpful and less likely to fudge it.
Record the call if you feel the need to as it then can’t be denied they said it.

That’s because you have a conscience and want to be able to put your head on your pillow and sleep peacefully.

They are going to have some sort of specialist call me. I missed his call today and listened to the message its the same prick ive talked to before its like talking to a recorded message they dont give a ****. And by the way i work nights and i dont think the post office is gonna let me run a 300ft extension cord out to my truck all night to power a $495 dollar block heater there telling me to have installed.

They also told me mobile one makes the nissan oil. So it has nothing to do with the oil. And they changed it with all nissan product and the light came back on the next day. Im sure it’s probably just the sensor gone bad but they wont do anything to the vehicle without someone from nissan corporate telling them to. Imo they have no desire on fixing anything. At least 20 trips to dealerships 3 different ones in 2 states. Not one issue has been resolved not one part replaced. Sad.
