Manufacturers Tinted glass

I just traded in my 07 Titan for a new 18 PRO 4X and want to get the front windows tinted but trying to figure out what the spec is on the rear windows from Nissan? They are all the tinted glass and I’m guessing 35-50% range but not sure. Anyone know for sure?

Re: Manufacturers Tinted glass

I'm not 100% sure, but my guess is it's what's called "privacy glass" and it's tougher to match with tint than one would think. The Nissan version isn't as bad as the Ford stuff from the 80s/90s, which had a brown/amber base tint, but often times, what you have to do is just accept getting close on the tint color. The grey/black base tint on the Titan may make it easier, though.

Re: Manufacturers Tinted glass

If you are looking to tint the front to match the back in darkness, then 20% is the number you are looking for.
At 35% it will be slightly lighter than the back.

the tint shop will be able to match it. The only difference between my front and rear glass after tint was that the front has a blueish tint to it while the rear has a more redish look. I want to say my fronts were 32% to match the rear.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I’m going to take it to the tint place and have them match it up as close as possible. 20-25% works for me.

I would recommend checking the legal limit in your state/province, if there are any. Most I think, it's at the discretion of the cop that pulls you over? The same level of tint might be too dark for the front.

Having said that, I have 5% on the front and back. Which ends up making he back even darker as its tint on top of the tinted glass.

Yes. A friend of mine had his front windows tinted to keep the cabin cool but regretted it once the sun set. When I finally had my front windows tinted I had them install the max legal (I think 15 percent reduction). In the daytime its all but un-noticeable. In the evening and especially backing up i'm grateful for my LED bulb replacements.
