Rewiring a 12 volt plug?

Has anyone rewired one of the 12 volt plugs so that it gets power while the truck is off? If so how much trouble was it?

I would like to know this too. I'd like to be able to charge my work or personal cell phones in the center console occasionally.

Re: Rewiring a 12 volt plug?

pretty simple and straightforward. You need a mini blade fuse tap, and tap directly into an accessory that has constant power (dome light for example) cut positive wire at the outlet, and tape it off, run new wire to your fuse tap.
