2008 Nissan Titan XE longbed

Hey I might be dumb but i'm not stupid, I did a oil change on the old girl today, I drained the oil and replaced the filter, I bought a 2 gallon container of oil and took a quart out of the two gallon jug and went ahead with the service, after i put oil in it i started it and let it run for acouple of minutes, then i replaced the skid pad and went to check the oil. (it showed 1 quart low) just alittle above the add mark. Now I'm no rocket scientist but isn't 2 gallons 8 quarts? I put the quart in it that i had taken out and now it's just a hair about the full mark on the dipstick, I drove it and rechecked the oil it is till on the full mark, I didn't measure out each quart when i put it in but something is amiss, I did fill the 2 gallon empty jug with the old oil and it seemed like a quart short? so that means i have been driving for 2k a quart low? maybe I am dumb or the 2 gallon jug is only 7 quarts???

Driving for 2k miles a quart low wont hurt anything. The real mystery is shy it took 8 quarts to fill? I think your 8 qt jug is really 7 qts. You got robbed

It could be made in the Japan, Korea, etc... Whenever I order shirts that are made there I always have to order one size larger than U.S. standards.

I prefer not using remote start or drive-thrus, both hurt your MPG's a lot & you shouldn't let your vehicle idle more that a minute or so especially unattended.

Re: 2008 Nissan Titan XE longbed

You should stick with the recommended viscosity on vehicles with variable valve timing

Re: 2008 Nissan Titan XE longbed

Some of us are losing our marbles thinking 0w20 is too thin for a big ole V-8 truck motor, no way it could protect it properly. And here you are running 15w40, My hats off to you sir. Check out these threads

I read through the amsoil link someone posted, where they state you should use 30 weight and give a laundry list of reasons, basically saying it protects against wear better, but if you read the entire thing, towards the bottom, they state its ok to use 20w, but if you do, you should really use Amsoil 20w as with it your car will last 250k miles plus. Does anybody else not see the insanity there? Its a lie, only told to increase MPG, even though the increase is negligible, but if you use our oil, youll be ok. Lmfao!!
